So Lost world is out in Europe and a lot of reviewers gave the 3ds version mediocre. I really want to get this game because it reminds me so much of Mario Galaxy games. So if anyone has gotten the 3DS version of the game and played it, let's know your opinions about it whether its playable or un-playable.

Confusing stuff. IGN said the Wii U game was a bust. This site liked it. This site didn't like the 3DS version, but Kotaku liked it (and hated the Wii U version). I was only at Kotaku to look up that Gamestop flyer, so I'm not a regular visitor. But, it seems like there are wildly different opinions on these two.

I really want to get this game. It has that Mario galaxy feel. I couldn't care much about the pixelated cutscenes.

I'm enjoying the game, although so far I've only passed the first world. The controls are fine, level design so far is excellent, and it still feels fast despite having no boost like Generations, Unleashed and Colours. Apparently the problems creep in as the game goes along, so when I get there I can update my post.

The cutscenes are definitely not high quality, and very pixelated at some points. They look better with the 3D off completely, and you can still see everything clearly, and they are pretty entertaining. I'd say for Sonic fans, this game is probably worth it, but otherwise you're better off with a console copy of Generations. The 3rd unannounced Sonic game is probably more like the older games anyway.

This is really a great game. It’s like the mashed Crash Bandicoot, Mario Galaxy and Sonic Adventure into one brilliant game.
There are some issues, and some level parts are really difficult. But I don’t see that as something bad, rather challenging.

Honestly I think this is better and more fun than anything platforming Nintendo put out on the 3DS.
I would easily give this game a 8 or 9. So totally not agreeing with metacritic on this one.

Visuals are amazing.

So have you finished the game? How were the special stages? do you require all the chaos emeralds to get to the final boss?

Famitsu rated the Wii U version 1 point higher than Generations (Not sure which version I love the PC version when its running right) . (9/9/9/9 instead of 9/9/9/8).

I want to know what they rated the 3DS version. (If it averages 8's I will probably give it a shot as soon as I find out).

Thing about Metacritic is it has EA as the highest rated publisher of this year. (Or they were last time I looked). It is been totally subverted.

Thing that made me disregard it only try to find publications that rate the same games I do. (And dislike similar).

Is Under Defeat HD. (Prior to its release the Dreamcast version was going for over £100 - The port is absolutely perfect.). Whereas Sine Mora which is basically junk that looks nice but its really buggy and too easy. Averages loads.

Commando : Steel Disaster (DSiware) is another one. For what it is it basically perfect. (As good as Contra 4 especially if you take price into consideration. More fun than Metal Slug 7 which it takes its influence from). It got 5 here and the review basically said I like Contra better than Metal Slug. Complaining of its difficulty as well. (I really want the retail one as I found it quite easy and the difficulty was reduced).

(I despise 3D Land / NSMB2. Too easy is totally not acceptable when I am paying £40 for the privilege. Especially if it is not even fun like 30fps seems to make games like this. Even though DKCR is probably my favourite Wii Game killing the frame rate by past form I expect to ruin the game. Certainly not willing to risk it.)

I haven't finished the game yet, but I got a good run. The special stages are horrible. Especially the first one; it was so bad I pressed start and quit without completing it.

The first one tries to make use of the gyroscope and you actually need to walk around the room to steer Sonic. It works but it’s really annoying type of gameplay for me personally – I just want to lay down on the couch while I play.

So that is why I don't pay attention to Metacritic (Other than trying to find places that are consistent and I somewhat agree with. Even then different reviewers have wildly differing opinions. Super Play never had that problem anything that got over 90 even if I didn't like the genre if I tried it then I ended up liking it. Now it means the reviewer likes the genre and it is not too bad or it has good graphics is really easy and a poor framerate. (And if there was one person who wildly disagreed with a review that was part of the review).

But I think I will just get Sonic Lost World 3DS anyway tomorrow. (Had enough massively discounted Sega stuff on Steam I have loved which has surprised me. And I think it was worth much more than 75% off).

Do you mean moving the 3DS left to right or actually standing up?

I really wonder if the chaos emeralds are required to get to the final boss?

I played a demo of the 3DS version at San Diego Comic-Con and really loved it, so I'm definitely getting it.

It’s getting very under-rated in my opinion, I've passed the ice zone (I think zone 6), so I've played a lot of the game already. I don’t watch cut scenes anyway, and except for the gyro controls I think its some of the best 3D control over Sonic I've played.
Having a button to run prevents many of the problems with boosting off edges, the wall run works very well once you get a feel for it.
Stages are long and varied and require changes in pace, but not in the abrupt way you find in Generations. On the negative side, I'm not sure the powers add much to the Central platforming, and at times can be difficult to use.
It’s certainly a challenging game, but the improved control over Sonic's speed make it less frustrating overall. I've been playing Sonic games since 1991, don’t know about the emeralds to get the final boss (the special stages seem a bit of a pain so that may be an issue), but from what I have played it’s a really good game if you're into the series.

You don't need the chaos emeralds to get to the final boss. Infact the ending doesn't change at all from what I know so far. So how many emeralds you got so far?

I really want this game!!!! It reminds me so much of Galaxy series!!!!

Heh heh, probably had 2 different reviewers 4 each version.
The Wiiu guy had a mindset for a 3D sonic he plays in the past.
The 3ds guy just wants to see a good game. No mindset.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

Ok so who has played the Wii U version and who has played the 3DS version or both? What are your comments?

I'm getting the 3DS version since I don't have the Wii U. Seeing that both have guides of beating the levels, It doesn't matter to me as long as they both look gorgeous
