Nintendo said they were only going to make 6 3D-Classics due to the large amount of work they needed to put in. I'd like there to be more, but most people in the thread arent interested in the 3D Classic treatment, they just want their classics. Eg. Opening post - Obviously just wants Earthbound and Super Metroid on the system. 3D Classics should be games that would benefit from the 3D effect while being popular games.
Urban Champion was unpopular but had good 3D effects. Excitebike had a good remake but is very much overpriced. Kid Icarus and Kirby's Adventure were both good in my opinion, and the 3D effect was nice in both. There is no way you are going to be seeing 3D Classics: Mother though, it just doesnt fit. Also making SNES games into 3D classics would take MUCH more effort from Nintendo, so if you are hoping for more 3D Classics, at least keep the expectation realistic on NES/Arcade.
3D Classics: Super Mario Bros. 2 would be the best thing on 3DS as far as downloads go.
Man, the rest of the entire franchise should be based on Super Mario Bros 2. Mouser & Fry guy are in serious need of a massive comeback.
Totally! Fry Guy! haha! I love the ending of SMB2. The whole dream sequence thing. It's an amazing game. My only complaint is that it wasn't point/coin/score based. I think it would have been more fun with scoring/points, but it was a tremendous game that I remember beating on the 3rd day after I got it. It was easy to beat (for me) but an amazing experience! We def need this on VC! (and SMB3, btw.) I remember SMB 2 was the first cover of the very first Nintendo Power magazine. Before that, we had Nintendo Fun Club News, which had tips for the original Metroid and Kid Icarus games. Wish I still had those issues!

Oh, to answer the original question of this thread... In a word... YES!! I think Nintendo should keep making the 3D classics. Why? Because I'm a retro game lover (my most loved games!) and I would hate to see them go. There are so many more wonderful games they could release! I wanna see more Nintendo originals (NES games) like "Kung Fu" and "Pinball"

I personally think Earthbound IS a title suited to 3D Classics, I mean have you played the game? the battles are pretty trippy, i'm talking about the backgrounds and certainly there is room for a 3D effect because of the layers the game has i.e. the background, enemies and HP/PP meters etc Now i'm just speaking hypertheticallly, ok? what IF earthbound was a 3D Classic? I mean Shigeru Miyamoto already said he's expressed interest in doing a LOZ: ALLTP remake in 3D and that's a SNES game. I can't see why Nintendo couldn't make those necessary changes to bring this title back out, although it would mean sacrifising some of the great music for all the legal issues the games has. I know what @geonjaha is saying when some of us just want these games on the VC/3DSware, but we can dream right?

I'd like to see Gameboy games on it, with color (At least the colors used when played on a GBC) and 3D. They could do "Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters" that way.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Ya, let's hope for the SNES games to come to the 3DS VC

When I first heard Link's Awakening was coming to the 3DS, I was hoping it was going to be a 3D Classics game, as I think it would have been a good one in 3D. Link jumping up off the screen in 3D would be awesome.
Yeah, I think Nintendo should keep pumping out these 3D classics. I would like to see Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 & 3; Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country, Double Dragon 1 & 2, The 3-D Battles of World Runner and more.
I wish Nintendo had a dev team just devoted to remaking old games into 3D Classics. And third parties should join in, too.
Super Mario World DK Country A Link to the Past Star Fox
I'd love to see these games get 3D coats of paint. Especially Star Fox; not on the VC and they could fix the framerate, add a save feature and possibly difficulty levels.
Nintendo has said over and over again that they don't want to do more 3D classics because of the difficulty of making them. Still, if they do decide to continue it one day, they should just do the titles from E3 2010 that they showed. (Super Mario World, Nazo no Mursamejo, and Mega man were shown there, along with a ton of other titles.) I hope they do one off of Super Mario World, as that could happen more likely than other SNES games (If they don't map the jump to the B button at least! I hated that for the SNES game)

I wish instead of just adding a 3D effect to the game, throwing in fancy backgrounds, etc., they would actually update the game, like they did with OoT 3D. Take 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for example. They could have at the very least added an easy difficulty where the screen goes down if you fall in the vertical stages.
Also, I would love for Zelda 2 to become a 3D Classics. If Kid Icarus can do it, I don't see why Zelda 2 can't.
I think Nintendo stop making the 3D Classic games.
I mean just look at our VC, we got SuperMarioBros.,Zelda, and Metroid for the NES, but not in 3D.
And I do think Nintendo is not going to make them 3D, any time soon.

As long as their are idiots who think 3D is worth paying extra Nintendo will take advantage of that, after all they are a business and they need money. Why do people get excited over 3D on a screen but not the 3D in real life?
