I've been researching, and there is only like 20-30 titles i can see, (most of which aren't out yet) and there is barley any 3dsware. i have a dsi XL with about $500 of dsiware i can transfer over (i know right! its a lot of money, but in doing this i know basically every good game on dsiware) and i was thinking about waiting until probably May of 2012. (just incase the 3ds turns out like it virtual boy, which died out pretty quick.) so i figured i would wait until then, because there isn't many titles right now, and now i have a few questions... Would you recommend the 3ds to me, which games should i get, and also, what the hell is dead or alive about?
It won't be like the Virtual Boy. There seem to be a lot of good games coming out within the next year or so and I can see the system having a very bright future after its rocky start. At the moment there aren't too many amazing games to choose from besides a couple of good N64 remakes, etc. but before the end of the year we'll have Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 and there's plenty more on the way. It could be worth waiting if you're not overly excited for anything yet in case they decide to bring out a new model any time in the near future with the second circle pad attached, but I'd imagine it'd still be a fair while away. As for your DSiWare games... not many of them will be able to fit on your 3DS's internal memory. I have 11 on mine and it's nearly full, and if you move them to the SD card they're unfortunately unplayable and you lose your saved data from what I've heard, so hopefully they might address this in the future and fix it in a system update like they did with the Wii. Overall, I think the 3DS is a great little system and is definitely worth picking up, but if you're patient it could be a good idea to wait it out a while to see if any news arises about a new model. All comes down to how much you want it in the end. Hope my input helped.
Titles i recommend: Ocarina of time and Starfox (only if you haven't played them), SSFIV and pilotwings are all right, but there not "must haves"
Dead or Alive: Weird fighting game, similar to tekken i think. It has ninjas in it.
Will the 3DS die out: probaboly not, the hardware is good and seems to have some popular games coming.
Would i reccomend it: Probaboly not. I like the console, but to me they're just aren't enough games on it and it will still be a while before some good ones come in (I am not one of those people that believe mario kart and super mario 3d land are going to turn the 3DS into the best console ever.).

Yeah, it takes far more than two games to make a good console, even if those two games turn out great... But I think before too long there will be several really good titles on the 3DS, so it's only a matter of time before the 3DS becomes a pretty good system to have... If you're going to spend the money on it might as well do it sooner or later... The only reason for waiting I would say is if you believe that Nintendo will soon announce a new model with two circle pads (which is plausible), but that would require waiting at least another year or two before getting one so if you can wait that long to play all the good games that arrive then maybe you should do that, but if you don't want to hold out on buying one just on the assumption that a new model will be released soon, then there's no time like the present (or at least November/December when more decent titles arrive).
i haven't gotten one yet either but it's not because of there not being any games that excite me....there's tons for me because i love puzzle games (tetris axis & mahjong cu3ed, doctor lautrec & the forgotten knights), rpgs (shin megami tensei: devil survivor overclocked, super mario 3d land), racing games (ridge racer & mario kart 7, need for speed: the run) and there's shinobi, pokemon rumble blast, the hidden, tales of the abyss, tekken 3D Prime Edition, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion (some of which are coming out early next year). Nothing I can say will make you get one if you really want to wait. But me personally, I can't wait to get my hands on mine. They probably won't announce a new version until next year's E3 if that. You could be waiting like two years or more for a new version of the 3DS
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
I'm really glad I bought mine at launch. The only reason I'd wait, is if there were a redesign in the near future. Last I heard, Nintendo doesn't have any redesign plans; but this was before the circle pad add-on was announced.
didnt the VB die b4 6 months and have only 12 games?
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
I have both a DSi XL and a 3DS and play both consoles a lot. The 3DS is smaller and better for travel, or commuting. My XL is just too bulky to take anywhere. There are games I like to play on the XL because of it's larger screen. But the 3DS is the right size for playing on the go.

If you do buy one make sure you import a Japanese 3DS, because they're region locked and you don't want to miss out on Love Plus 3DS.

Of course there's always the possibility of a price drop in the future (although after the one just gone I'd imagine you'll be waiting a while), and waiting a little bit will give you a larger selection of games to choose from if you're worried about running out of ones to play.
Personally, I'd be inclined to wait and see what happens. Then again, I'm never an early adopter and never really feel the urge to have the latest tech so YMMV.
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
I feel the same way. With it being so new you don't know if it's gonna take over the market, or crash and burn being lost to history. I'm waiting to see if a new 3DS lite will come out with the second analog built in, and that should give it enough time to see if it will be a worthwhile system.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
For right now I say save your money or buy something else. I'm pretty sure a new model will come out with a whole bunch of new crap added to it anyway. But if you really want those two Mario games then I say go for it
I was on the fence about it for so long. When that price drop hit I was all over it (even picked it up at the lower price a few days early at Walmart, yeah Ambassador Program). I love my 3DS and I'm glad I got it. Just go get it, you know you want it and you'll be happy you have it when all the big titles come out.

'kay, yeah, I'd buy it now. It's fun to be a part of the commotion when everyone is all over the latest product. Don't wanna buy one later then feel left out. Besides, even if there are only a few games you'd currently want, you couldn't afford to buy a bunch. They're $40 each. Unless you're rich. And if you are rich, then might as well have bought one at launch.
