And here in Canada it's $64.99. I'm going to wait and see if I can get a deal on it around E3 time. If not then I will just wait until it goes on sale.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
I have access to Amazon Prime now, which takes 20% off the price of most preorders. So even the Atlus games with the Atlus Tax only cost me MSRP + sales tax now.
I hear Best Buy has a pretty great program with regard to video games as well.
@Ralizah: At BB I can get a new game anytime I want for 20% off. Also 10% of ammibos and skylander figures. Its been well worth the 30$ I've spent on it. I've saved at least 80 to 100$ and have also got reward money as well. I've got 10$ sitting there for my next game purchase. Was thinking of getting Star Fox for 38$. Almost got Bravely Second but decided against it since I need to beat the first one.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@Spoony_Tech, thanks for the heads up about the theme (I've actually never played a game in the series, but I'm always up for a free theme, lol).
Interestingly, the character on the bottom screen, when you scroll the menu sideways, the glow in his eyes (and on his scar or whatever it is) will turn off and on again.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
will be getting this eventually but $64.99 plus tax is a lot for a game. so will wait until it's on sale or a month where I don't have other games to buy

@Spoony_Tech I was a bit worried about only playing through the Chaos route at first, but I've heard Apocalypse retcons almost everything that happens in SMT IV's neutral route anyhow.
Getting all the endings should be easier in this game. From what I've heard, the game lets you explicitly choose which direction you'll go. None of this "You disagreed with Jonathan one too many times, so your character is working for Lucifer now" nonsense.
Also, no law/neutral/chaos in this game. All the endings are variants of the neutral path. Hopefully it'll be more Nocturne's endings.
EDIT: Also, you're right, that free theme is hot. Love the music.
EDIT 2: If I was smart, I'd get DQ now and get SMT IV: Apocalypse when it drops to $20, like it inevitably will, but I'm too excited for this to do the purely rational thing.
@Operative This game is a kinda-sorta reboot of and sequel to the original Shin Megami Tensei IV. It assumes the majority of that game happened, but retcons the ending. What I've heard from importers is that there are a lot of nods to and continuity with the first game that you won't appreciate, but it should be fully enjoyable as a solo experience. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is its own story and doesn't require knowledge of the first game to understand it.
Also, it's probably the best place to start, as it's the most accessible game in the series. It has multiple difficulty modes, which you can access from the beginning (there's an easy difficulty setting in SMTIV, but it's kind of a humiliating spectacle, as you have to die a couple of times, pay money, and get made fun to unlock it) and it fixes all of the issues that were present in the first game (especially the world map, which is now much easier to navigate).
I mean, SMT IV is significantly cheaper, and it's utterly fantastic, but don't let that dissuade you from playing this one first. You can always go back to it.
@Ralizah thanks for the explanation! I think I'll buy it, it seems like the kind of thing I would enjoy. The only experience I've had with any sort of smt game was persona 1 on the psp, which was pretty enjoyable. I hope this one is even better than that
