Topic: Resident Evil: Revelations questions (SPOILERS)!

For those who completed Revelations (and paid attention to it's convoluted plot), what was General Lansdale's reason for blowing up everything? Particularly when he started the Terragrigia Panic?

He started The Terragrigia panic in order to make the world think that bioterrorism was an immediate threat and thereby lead people to give him more power.

He then destroyed Terragrigia and unleashed the virus on the ships in order to kill (most) of the members of Veltro who could have told the public what he had done.

Thank you for that. I'll likely have more questions since the plot was Metal Gear level confusing for me. So I hope this thread doesn't get locked.

EDIT: Yeah here's another one. Was it revealed that members of Veltro lived on Terragrigia? What did Veltro want or expect from Lansdale? In fact what was Veltro's intentions anyway?

Veltro were a terrorist group. I don't know enough about Dantes inferno to be sure, but I think the reason that they did what they did was to punish the earth for becoming sinful and greedy.

They didn't live on Terragrigia (well, perhaps some of them did) but they choose it as the first place to attack because it represented the above things (sinful and greedy people). Hwoever, they were there at the time because they orchestrated the virus attacks

Lansdale gave Il Veltro money and weapons including the Abyss Virus, because he was a manipulative expletive

Well your idea of what Veltro's motives were are very similar to what was written on Wikipedia LOL.. I figure playing both sides was to help Lansdale's power immensely. He obviously has a whole lot of enemies.
