Topic: Pressing the HOME Button During Games Like Animal Crossing.

Since these games play with real time, wouldn't it cause problems if you press the HOME button?
Don't the games pause when you touch it?

Time still moves forward constantly, whether you press some button on your 3DS or not.

Real answer: DS games continue to play when you press the Home button, despite the absence of sound. So the game is still going on when you press it.

Animal Crossing will still happen, remember City Folk? If you didn't play that for a week, everything would die, your neighbours would leave, your hair got spikey, you'd lose fruit and you'd run out of money, but most of all... you get cockroaches running around your room. D:

The HOME Button just pauses the game, nothing wonderful or amazing.

@xDemon720x It doesn't pause the game. I tested it myself by jumping off a cliff in Super Mario 64 and then pressing Home. A waited for a bit, then unHomed and I was on the ground, and I had taken damage.

what happened in Wild World when you closed the screen? I'd imagine it'd be about the same thing.

I think you mean, like, if a neighbor was standing next to you, would they still be there when you resume the game or will you see them walking away. I'm guessing, they will keep moving, but you won't see them move away. When you resume they'll just appear to have teleported elsewhere.

But it's just a pause mechanic that only works on 3DS apps games, all it does is pause the game/app so you can do other stuff while it waits in the background.

i think he was aking like if you leave it paused using the home button, with a neighbor next to you, and come back later that night, (when the neighbor should be elsewhere) will the neighbor just magically teleport, walk there, will he stay there? if it pauses it, and uses real life time in the game, certain event could get screwy. is that what you mean?
