Topic: Pokémon X/Y: How to Last Longer than 15 Battles at Battle Maison?

At the Battle Maison triple battles, I can only last up to about at least 15 battles. My Pokémon are equipped with items and can’t seems to get passed the 16th trainer. I using triple battle format, Greninja, Talonflame, Raichu, Venusaur, Amauri, and Lapras. They’re also equipped with items to boost the power of their moves. What should I do?

It would help to know what you're using. It's tough to recommend improvements if I don't know what you've already got. Also which format you're doing, since the same teams usually don't work for all formats. (Also, it's been a long time since I've played X and Y but iirc other than the bosses matchups are random - but if there's one thing in particular that keeps beating you then that would be good to know too.)

Lastly, idk whether this is even applicable to you (since you might already be doing it) but iirc every (or at least almost every) CPU trainer in the Battle Maison uses Pokemon with near-perfect IVs and EVs, so if you're not doing the same then you're going to be at a slight disadvantage on account of that no matter what you're using. @LinkxPeach

@LinkxPeach: Ok, I probs still need a bit more information, but here's a start. I punched your team into a team-builder, and before anything else we probably want to work on your team composition. Fully 50% of your team is weak to Grass, Fighting, Rock and/or Electric - and of those four types one of them (Rock) you have no Pokemon at all that resist it. That's a lot of different types that can knock you out pretty quickly, especially since in triple battle format you've got 50% of your team on the field at any given time so chances are you're going to have something out that the opponent can cream at any given time.

(Note that this analysis doesn't take into account Greninja's hidden ability; Greninja, Talonflame and to a lesser extent Venusaur is really only 'good' if they have their hidden abillties, so if you don't have HA versions of them I'd recommend finding alternatives. Also note that I assumed by 'Amauri' you meant Aurorus and not Amaura; I'm assuming you're not using an unevolved Pokemon.)

I haven't done a triple battle in years and I never really did them much back when gens 5 and 6 were the 'thing', but as I'm sure you're aware since you do them Triples are all about reach. Could you explain your strategy to me? Like, what you're trying to do? (Who's your center Pokemon, which moves do you have that hit multiple Pokemon simultaneously and which do you have that can hit the opposite side of the field, etc.?) Even better, could you just tell me the movesets; IVs, natures and EVs: and specific held items of your Pokemon?

PS: 'IIRC' stands for 'if I recall correctly'.

I trying to get pass the 16th trainer. Greninja is my center Pokémon. I using Greninja’s Surf, Venusaur’s Petal Blizzard to hit all Pokémon, and used Talonflame’s Aerial Ace to hit the left Pokémon.
