@BlatantlyHeroic: I don't know what you mean by "it took you that long" when I clearly said I was able to take that long. In B/W I wasn't able to do those things, since the story kept interrupting and training was a lot worst.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
My original run through X took me 80 hours. And it wasn't because it was hard or anything like that, quite the contrary my Pokemon were always like 10 levels above the gym leaders.
Though I did feel like there was a bit too many pokemon, each route had like 40 different wild pokemon.
@Meowpheel: I didn't mind about the large numbers of Pokémon on each route. In fact, I liked it since one of the reasons I find older gens sometimes a bit slow is because you don't (to use gen 1 as an example) really encounter much more than Pidgies, Rattatas and Spearows until you get a good way into the game and even then they're still everywhere. Though Gen 1 has a good excuse about having a lot less pokémon in total.
I loved the variety of Pokemon but I totally understand if people thought it was too many, at least at first. Maybe having some unlock after getting the National Pokedex would have been better lol

It was just right IMO.
I'm starting to worry if the new region is Hawaii, I mean it is too small to warrant a proper new region, and compared to Singapore and Indonesia it just uhh doesn't seem right.. So please let's hope for Pokemon's survival as a franchise that it isn't Hawaii.
It's not like they'd need to be geographically accurate or anything like that.
If anything, it could respect the size of Hawaii perfectly and still remain a similar size to other regions in terms of content.
In past games the regions are more similar to cities sub divided in neighbourhoods. Everything is close by, each town has only a few houses, important facilities like cemeteries, power plants and radio towers are limited to 1 per region... Only by combining the whole region you'd get a slightly realistic town.
Yeah the size doesn't bother me much. If anything, I think another water based region could do the series good and allow them to add back some of the "deductive" elements of the worlds of earlier gens.*
*Best example of this: In Gen 1, when you happen upon a Snorlax, you see you can't cross and have to figure out another way or find a Pokeflute. In Gen 6, when you happen upon a Snorlax, a cutscene triggers that says "Go here to get a Pokeflute to cross the road".

X and Y's hands-off approach to story progression was amazing. The way I progressed through my first 5 or so badges was paced perfectly. I got to look around, sometimes I WANTED to backtrack. I would much prefer if I wasn't bogged down with senseless philosophic ranting like B/W.
EDIT: That being said, I agree with Team Flare being stupid and messing up the legendary encounter.
The most difficult thing about fighting Team Flare was trying to guess who their leader was. I had absolutely NO IDEA it was going to be Lysandre until I got the message! (Which in itself makes no sense lol, why are you gonna tell everyone they're about to die?!)

I hope people realise that was dripping with sarcasm... (or at least the bit outside the brackets)
It IS a bit hard to tell if something is sarcastic if the statement is just made out of the blue. Sarcastic responses are generally pretty easy to discern as they've got some context, but flat out statements are a little more difficult.
The problem is, I'm sure there ARE people who were actually been surprised by the revelation that Lysandre was the head of Team Flare. You might think, "yeah, but do I look like one of them?", but that's the thing; on the internet, nobody really looks like anything. All you know about someone is what give away in their comment. Sarcasm mainly works by juxtaposing what you actually (clearly) think against what you're saying, but when it's impossible to tell the former, things can get a bit ambiguous and confusing.
The perils of sarcasm on the internet aside, I think I'd prefer the evil big boss to remain a little bit more in the shadows next time around. Maybe they could be an important figure that people are aware of, and whose identity you piece together from hearsay (for example, a political figure, or head of some company). But having them constantly turning up and chatting to you in every other cutscene (in my opinion) stops them from feeling as sinister and menacing when their true identity is revealed. It makes for a 'plot twist', but an obvious plot twist isn't really much exciting than no plot twist at all.
I kind of figured he would be evil the first time I saw him, before he even opened his mouth to make it obvious.
I figured upon first meeting him that he was either the team leader, or an admin of sorts. The only one that vaguely surprised me was Malva, since the Elite Four are normally benign.
