Noticed that megas now have a strange candy thing next to them with a number, what's that about?

It still only recharges to 5 hearts but any extra hearts (purchased or earned through StreetPass) are counted separate so it doesn't interfere with the 5 recharging. They gifted 5 extra moves with the update.

Well, the Venusaur competition is in full swing. I' so glad they got rid of the Home-Buffering trick. It means the competition is more open, and even if you're not so good at the timed stages, you have a shot at a stone. I have plenty of coins stockpiled from Meowthing, so if I dip too low, I'll make sure I can get back on top. Without any items, I'm currently around the 8000 rank mark. I think Shuffle finally decided that I needed some good luck after wasting 107 hearts trying to find Sharpedo. as I caught Victini at 11%, first try! It will definitely be Mewtwo's best buddy in any stages weak to psychic mon. (It's at 80BP) So, yeah. Hopefully with a stage update next week, this is shaping up to be a good time to be a shuffler.

Yeah, looking at the scores in the Venasaur event, it's clear a ton of people were using that Home button trick. I was never aware of it! Thankfully I never needed it, but my first attempt is /still/ in the top 500 (I did use the -1 Complexity gift...wish I hadn't), and the high scores are around 30,000 rather than the usual 60k, 70k, and higher. I'm only a few thousand off the top mark , which is a little more than 30k. Glad they fixed that because I'm pretty sure I'll be able to place in every event from here on out with minimal investment.

Also, I thought Victini was supposed to show up both days during the weekend? I only saw it once, and didn't capture it.

Victini tricked me into spending all my coins with that special catch chance thing.

I guess it's ok if they decide to have victni one day and meowth the other day.

Apparently Victini shows up Saturday, Meowth shows up Sunday. And the competition is really tight. I jumped up 2000 places by only gaining 1000 points... I'm currently in the top 10,000, but I might not be for long.

I'm still around the 6000th spot with about 15000 points, I hope that will be enough.

I have about 1,300 points and recently lost my spot in the top 20,000. Hopefully I can get enough coins to make a come back soon. Used all my Exp Boost on my optimized line-up but I haven't caught as many guys as a lot of others.

I'm currently at about the 3000 mark, with 20000 points. I'm just banking on not sliding too far in 1 day. Hopefully we'll actually get a proper update this time.

I've been really doing nothing besides grinding levels for my Mega Pokemon since I S-ranked everything and caught Victini a couple of weeks back.

I just checked the Venusaurite competition again today and noticed my ranking finally drop slightly past the 10,000 mark, so I played that again to improve my rank and now I'm in the 400s, I feel safe that I won't get bumped now.

I wonder if they're going to add new stages soon or what they're going to do about the candies.

Well, new levels tend to come after the big competitions...

Andddd.... There's new levels available. And Giratina. It seems Giratina is a new kind of level, the more you play it, the harder it gets and the better rewards you get.

I managed to get the venusaurite.
Also they gave me a free mega candy.

I gave the candy to Gengar. It said he'd megaevolve faster now.

Edit: Giratinas catchability depends completely on the amount of times you've defeated it.
Edit 2: three new expert stages were also added. It seems they are the final forms of the kalos starters.

Already caught Giratina at level 12 (it's about a 55% chance to catch it by that point); I guess you could say I needed some compensation after failing to get the Venasurite. Giratina's really strange to use since it's head is golden; it's like you're dragging around little trophies.

Oh so that's what the candies do? No wonder Mega Aero has like 7 candy slots while Gengar has like 3. Mega Aero takes forever to mega evolve.

Well, Gengar actually had only one candy "slot".

He evolves super fast now though.

I am at level 7 and it is only at 7%, when does the catch rate jump up?

How am I supposed to beat the evolved form of Fenekin? (I don't remember her name)

I'm pretty sure level=catchability.

In related news: Just caught Giratina, with 13%.

The thing has 80 base attack, whoa.

That is what I thought but MasterWario said he caught Giratine at level 12 with 55% catchability.

It was probably one of those random events that raise the %.
