@Nego Don't go solely for the exp boosters on level 230. They are not worth it, IMHO. I mean, you have to play like 10-15 more stages, and in return you just get like a total of 400 exp points, for a single Poke, which can be achieved in 4 plays at Ampharos. I suggest that you at least get to level 250 if you going to continue any further.

Yes, give the 3 RML to Zoroark as well as any skill booster you have lying around. Mine is just at level 12 with 1500 exp points to go.

I fancy that you didn't read my advice on activating the card with the 120 combo requirement? Go and select that mission card right away because either at level 250 or level 280 you could fulfill it.

By the way, what Pokes did you use for level 200? Yvetal and Zoroark are just too alike for my tastes.

Did stage 200 (I was so envious of you guys). Used C-1, Attack+ and DD. Did a big 68 combo after activating Sinister Power (after just mega evolving Absol) and didn't let it go. Used M-Absol, Zoroark and Darkrai. Finished with 14sec left.

Back to less than 3k coins. Had a really, really big Meowth grind, with 9600 coins this morning, but all off them are gone. :-<

I've come to the conclusion that this EB hasn't been worth at all. Let's see:

Main prizes till level 280 (1 skill booster M, 2 Mega Speedups, 3 RMLs, 2 skill swappers).
Used items in order to achieve this: 3 Mega Speedups on Absol, 1 skill booster M on Zoroark, plus 3 RMLs. All of the other prizes already used in the EB (except for the 1.5Exp, used on Victini).

So, at the end I'm gonna finish this EB having spent like 60k coins (till level 280) with 2 skill swappers and one MSpeedup less.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think that the most rewarding EB so far was Keldeo Resolute (8 MSpeedups!!) and it wasn't that difficult towards the end. The second one was Kyurem followed close by Latios (because it was very easy).

The less rewarding: definitely this one as well as the Darkrai one followed by Zygarde (50% forme) since it required like 2-3 jewels to complete.

Honestly, Exp Boosters S and M don't fit as rewarding prizes, IMHO. The same can be said about +10 sec and 1.5Exp items. I mean, you can make up for a Booster M in 2 Ampharos' plays!!

I think that the only EB I didn't go all the way was Diancie's as I was running too low on coins and time. But yes, I understand the urge to go all the way.

Should I pause the EB for a second and give Zoroark a couple of Raise MAX Levels and go grind exp for it though?

I'd say it's worth it. Sinister Power helped me A LOT in this EB so far, and I'm not stopping till after I beat Level 300. (I recently beat 250 using all items except Mega Start.)

I forgot to mention that I gave my Zoroark a Skill Booster (M) so it could reach Skill Level 2. This ensures it has a guaranteed trigger on a 5-match.

Thanks! I'll probably end up doing that.

I'm on 250 right now but don't know if I should use all the items to beat it. >_> I'll go level up Zoroark and see how it goes, unless tomorrow's update keeps me busy.

Congrats on beating the EB by the way!

I did read your advice but I still have a couple of missions left on the previous card so I didn't feel like switching cards. I might do it since 120 combo can be crazy most of the time.

I used the same Pokes for level 200 than for every single other level. So that's M-Gengar, Darkrai, Giratina AF, Yveltal (all MAX). I recently switched M-Gengar to M-Absol as per Rikaria's suggestion, even though I don't have it fully candied.

The new safari is a repeat of the one with Darumaka, Darmanitan, Manectric, Electrike and Stantler, but it now adds Winking Pikachu and Winking Raichu into the mix. I'm assuming that the encounter rate for the Winking Pokémon is 1%.

I've been lucky enough to encounter Winking Raichu already (he was only my 6th or so encounter in the Safari so far), and it is a puzzle stage with only two moves. There are two matches of four (of Winking Raichu) that you will need to make. Pretty simple. I was panicking initially because I didn't have any YouTube videos to fall back on (so far, nobody has uploaded footage of Winking Raichu), so there's nothing to worry about. Good luck guys.

Yeah, I've also encountered Wiking Raichu already. I've been staring my laptop screen all day though so I had a hard time seeing the difference. =_= Thankfully I was able to do it, but I had to use a great ball in order to catch it.

I don't really like the way GS made this Safari but oh well.

This was definitely the best safari yet. I got winking Pikachu on my 4th play and winking Raichu on my 5th. Even caught Pikachu without needing a great ball. Already back to nothing to do except try to finish the last Mission Card, I guess.

@Rikaria I guess Nego meant to have two, very hard (I imagine) to get Pokes among others which we already have.

Doesn't bother me at all, by the way.

Got Hoopa with just a Great Ball in my secondary 3DS (beat it itemless). On my regular 3DS: used Attack+, MS and a Great Ball (after failing to catch it with a 51% catchability).:-0. I Think is a great addition to a Banette, all ghost team, except for timed events as its color scheme is very similar to Banette's.

You don't like that we can farm Coins and Exp. Booster (M)'s while trying to find the two Winking 'chus? lol

I wish there was more new Pokémon. This Safari also makes me fear that when they eventually repeat the one Safari from which I'm still missing only one Pokémon, they'll replace it with something new.

I also didn't have much luck with the gifts. I mostly received 100 coins, and I didn't receive any Exp. Boosters at all. : But that doesn't really matter. I was positively surprised that there were gifts. Sadly those coins got used for the great balls. >_>

I was able catch Pikachu today as well, so this was a pretty fast Safari for me. More time for Hoopla and leveling up Zoroark which is cool.

A lot of coins (like 2000) in 15 plays. Caught both Winking Pikachu (using a Great ball) and Riachu (itemless).

Back to grinding Meowth.

Wow, my very first go at the Safari I encountered Winking Pikachu and luckily caught it at 26% with no Great Balls. A great start, but I've been unlucky at catching the other Pokes without paying coins.

Anyways, I'm excited for the event Pokemon this week and next. Really need to catch the four Regis and Hoopa but I still need more coins from Meowth. And I'm looking forward to next week, I've seen a lot of people use Palkia and Mega Manectric and finally I have a chance to catch them!

@Rikaria Yes, that's what I meant. I love safaris and have no intention of missing any Pokemon in them from now on (I used to ignore them).

And speaking of which, I hope they bring back the safari with Garchomp, as last time it was available (which was probably at least 6 months ago) I had just started out and was only able to catch Gible. Also never caught Talonflame so I'd like to see that return as well.

EDIT: Also, I just now encountered Winking Raichu and managed to catch it! Thanks for the tip on how to solve its puzzle!

Edit 2: ....aaaaand just caught Manectric on the first try as well. Lucky night for me I guess?

I've caught Winking Pikachu earlier today, so I'm out of the Safari. I scored plenty of bonus coins, but no Exp. Boosters. I did not use any Mega Pokémon in this Safari (most of them are maxed out, including those with currently empty Mega Stone slots) so I decided to take the opportunity to level up some of my weaker ground-type 'mons, namely Therian Forme Landorus (Lv5), Groudon (Lv9) and Gliscor (Lv5).

Now it's back to grinding Meowth in preparation for Lv250 Giratina.

Is there any secret or trick to completing the mission of clearing 40 black clouds on Yvetal's (?) level? I used a time +10, then used a Jewel (I saw some people elsewhere saying you have to use a Jewel in order to get enough clouds to show up) and ran it down to 9 seconds left when I beat it, and I cleared every cloud that showed up, and I still didn't clear the mission.

Xyphon22

maceng

@Xyphon22 I made a video of myself (with the help of my kid) after using a +10sec and managed to clear 37 black clouds, but killed Yveltal too quickly. If not, I'd use a jewel to have an extra 15sec in order to clear the extra 3 clouds.

There is the possibility of a later ability, Goat, that supposedly triggers disruptions. No Pokemon has been released with this ability.. yet. So, you can imagine using such a Pokemon to trigger extra black clouds in the allotted time.

It is the same as using Prank in Throh challenge, in order for him to trigger its disruptions (rocks) so as to have the 40 required to beat the mission card (by the way, I just did this mission card on another 3DS and managed to activate Prank several times: cleared like 45 rocks!!).

[Edited by maceng]

@Xyphon22 Also, you can only make 3 icons combos in order for Yveltal to spawn a black cloud.

maceng

maceng

When I tried I did stop at every combo as not to kill him too soon. It's the only way, I think. Maybe we can use a 3 combo with Cheer in order to then activate Goad?

@Rikaria You are right. My bad. So much wishful thinking poured into a post...
