I put aside the Escalation Battle (sitting at level 219 at the moment) in order to amass some coins. Now, with 40k and with 3 gems I think that i can realistically go all the way to level 300.

I took four days off from work so is gonna be a lot easier. I'm thinking about finishing the Escalation battle on Sunday at the latest.

By the way, "Happy New Year", everyone. Akemashite Omedetoo!!

Stopped at level 250, finished up the Safari (faster than I expected actually), and now just Meowth grinding for a bit. I still haven't S ranked all the new main stages though, so I'll do that once I'm done with the upcoming week's competition.

last night I finally beat level 300. The levels after the 251 are quite hard, like levels 91-99. Didn't use any powerups but invested like 70 hearts getting all the way to level 300. Now I have 8 Mega Speedups!!
In my secondaries 3DS achieved levels 250 and 150.

On the Safari I caught 2 Pokemons as well as TalonFlame. But with barely 2,500 coins and like 5 hearts in stock, is grinding Meowth time.

Yeah, I don't mind the break this time. I can't remember a period of updates that ate up so many coins and hearts in such a short period of time. This week I can finally catch up on my S ranks.

@Klimbatize: Same here. I finished the Escalation battle with 429 coins!!

Ha, yeah, mine was pretty low, too. That coupled with the fact that I didn't Meowth farm at all really made a dent.

Still it was worth it to reach level 300 as it granted 2 Speedups!! Have the last 50 levels increased too much in difficulty but it didn't. However, I feel too drained: haven't touched my 3DS all day long...

I stopped at 100. That allowed me to also complete the Safari and catch and S-rank all the new Pokemon (including both new Expert ones), and still have coins left over. If you feel drained after playing a game (unless it is a physical sport or something), you are playing it wrong.

@Xyphon22: sore wa sore, da ga...
Of course it was a draining experience. Getting all the way to level 300. Also, at the same time, very rewarding and a bit of bragging rights.

Now, I'm just resting for a while (still manage to beat the Safari completely, using less than 20 hearts, if I may add).

As Rikaria pointed out, this Escalation Battles are very hard to come by, maybe twice per year. So, when Kaldeo comes back again I just might get to only level 100 or something like that.

The "no pain, no gain" motto aplies quite nicely...

Does anyone knows how to beat Roserade (stage 250) without using a ton of coins? By the way, I don't have M-Blaziken, just in case...

Wow. I haven't been playing this much lately. I've been sure to get any new Pokemon available and rank in the competitions, but haven't been grinding Meowth at all. I'm going to need to rebuild my stack to S rank all of those mains. I kind of wish updates like this happened early on more often when I wasn't a little burnt out on the game.

WOW!!
I've been S-ranking a lot of stages (I was way behind), from like 210 to 235, or so. That means almost zero coins and zero hearts. I also managed to get some of the Expert stages Pokemons, like Greninja, Terrakion, Virizion and Gallade (which was very easy). Still missing Chesnaught, Delphox, Cobalion and Bisharp. I think that Chesnaught might be useful, as well as Cobalion, but is Delphox and Bisharp any good? I really don't think they are at the moment.. (rarely come up at the competitions).
Back to Meowth and streetpassing a bit more...

I haven't even been playing the main stages. I think I'll save them for later, when special stages start to repeat with nothing new.

@Klimbatize: Hi. Can you help me with any good advice and team to beat Cobalion and Chesnaught? Thanks in advance.

Klimbatize

@maceng: I'm going to have to check out those levels again and get back to you. If memory serves, for Cobalion Lucario is the best mega because of the starting disruptions. Try him as your Mega. Also, I know that when that set of Experts came out I just plowed through them with as many items as possible because I had a ton of coins. I went with brute force over skill.

Chesnaught, to this day, was the hardest level in the game to S-rank for me. Now I have to go back and relive the memories??

JK, I'll get back to you in a little bit. I'm sure some of these other players have great tips for them as well.

@Klimbatize: Thanks man.
I tried Cobalion with MS and DD to no avail. M-Garchomp doesn't clean house as well as Lucario, it seems.
