Yeah, it's annoying when you have to invest a lot to S rank a main stage Pokemon...only to catch it and discover that it's immediately obsolete in all situations. If it's a garbage Pokemon then it shouldn't be super difficult to beat the stage.
Well, level 50 was a bit unexpected. Latios uses the ice configuiration used on levels 30 onwards (or something), with a lot of wood squares. I failed the first time (its about 14,000 HP). I won using a Mega Startup and Disruption Delay, with 7 seconds left. DD is mandatory as it keeps icing the Pokemons and wood sqaures keep falling. You can get by with a 10 sec extra and DD. Maybe.Didnt use Latios, but Latias, Dragonite, Xerneas and Diancie, all maxed.
@Rikaria: Using Rayquaza instead of Dalcie or Xerneas is clever...Dragonite's power activates more often and Rayquaza (Hazorus also works well) sometimes augments its attack power.
For those still on level 50 or below, if you are planning on doing some leveling up, include Goomy as it all levels onward he makes an appearance. It males Latios evolve faster also!!
I just reached level 99. Did a trial run using no powerups and a team with maxed Latias, Dragonite and Xerneas and a level 8 Mega Latios. Managed to shave off 70% of its health. By the way, it's only 45 seconds long.
Doing another trial run just to check the HP of Latios and then a run with Mega Attack and the extra 10 sec powerup.
EDIT: Beat level 100 using the attack boost powerup and the extra 10 sec. Finished with 17 sec left.
This has honestly been the most enjoyable Escalation Battle for me so far.
I've enjoyed it as well. It played to my strengths, as I usually do well with timed stages. I am on level 192 and I have only had to replay a level twice (50 and 100 scouting runs). I just bought powerups for 150 when I got there. I see that the HP has ramped up quite a bit when I hit 190, but I still managed to beat it with 5 seconds to go. I wasn't even using an all max team until I hit 191.
I am going to hold off on finishing until I completely level up Latios though. Level 7 at the moment, but I'm using an all Dragon team and will need it maxed to limit the number of powerups I need to buy.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
Finally beat level 150. Used Mega Attack and Disruption Delay. Did a scout run and managed to destroy 50% of Latios HP. So, the Mega Attack should have been enough but used DD just in case. Finished with 7 seconds left using a Dragon team: 3 maxed, Rayquazza at level 9 (it really doesn't make much of a difference, level 9 or 10, IMHO).
I already have everyone in this update except for Landorus, of course. For a first attempt, I did okay (although I wasn't trying that hard): had about 40% HP left when the timer ran out. The Forces of Nature Pokés have ridiculous amounts of HP, smh.

The exciting news in this update is the upcoming events: Regigas eventually, and a Mewtwo try 'em items stage (move-based, items cost nothing, 100% catch rate) that lets players catch Mewtwo (as an alternative to the expert stage): https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonShuffle/comments/3vwc9n/next_...
Sounds like Genius Sonority are trying to give everyone a Mewtwo, to celebrate 5 million downloads of mobile version.
I believe I've just encountered a bug with Mega Steelix. I spent some coins trying to S-Rank Mega Aerodactyl, but Mega Steelix's mega ability did not take effect whatsoever. Its effect is supposed to remove up to 10 blocks (a la Mega Aerodactyl), but it did nothing. Incredibly annoyed that Steelix is basically useless with this bug, and I've wasted quite a lot of coins for nothing.
Porygon did nothing wrong.
