Go there, all the glitches are available to view. "Duplicate Items" is the one you're looking for. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the exploit on the forum even though it's widely known lol
You can't do it until you're allowed to use Surf outside of battle, so you need to do the Fuchsia City gym first, which is in the city you're in to do the Safari Zone. Once you do that and have Fly learned you can do the glitch.
I tried it and it didn't work for me I think it's because I spoke to that old man at the start and watched him catch a Pokemon so I reckon that last the reason it don't work
There IS MissingNo In Yellow, however the same 99/infinite items glitch had been fixed.
Having MissingNo appear does NOT ruin the game, if you catch it then it ruins it.
@SaSMaKaVeLi: No it will work even if you spoke to the guy, you talk to him, tell him "No" when he asks if you're in a hurry, watch him catch a Weedle (even if you've done it before), then fly to Cinnabar immediately after the conversation is over, walk over and Surf on the right side of the island (on the beach part) and keep trying over and over until the Missingno appears. It doesn't always appear right away, sometimes Horsea, Pidgeotto, or Pikachu appears first, just run away and try again. Don't catch anything you find even if it's suppose to appear in the water during surf because these are all glitchy Pokemon supposedly. No need to worry though, all you do to "get out of the glitch" is just leave the area and do normal stuff again. The only risk in this is catching anything on that particular strip of water, and possibly multiplying items that aren't suppose to be multiplied. That might get weird.
I remember once I multiplied a Key item and it didn't mess anything up but it was like "okay now I have 99 coin cases..."
Also when you succeed in multiplying the item count may appear glitched or give you over 99 items, but once you start using them it'll correct the number after you've used about 10 of them. It's registering there's over 100 items but can't display the correct number is all.
The only thing they did was glitch up some graphics, but then they evolved into kangaskhan and things went normal again. A kangaskhan with two water guns and fly.
I think the only thing it truly ruins is the Hall of Fame from the Elite Four, and it only ruins entries 5-20 or something. I remember catching MissingNo as well. I could always see the first ones then after a few it would start getting ruined, but then after a bunch of entries it would work again with either minor text errors or none at all. There was somewhere you could walk near, but not into and it would appear messed up but the walls were still basically there, but the tiles and patterns were mixed and numbers and symbols appeared lol It's been like 16 years I have no idea anymore. But I know people flip out and spread chatter about it being a total game ruiner.
On a side note, I realize this is partially about money making. This is like the first time I've played Gen 1 where I had 20-50k of money on hand through almost the whole thing. I didn't cheat or anything to get it, no idea how I was doing so good. Although I did sell useless TMs, but still, I was rollin in the dough.
I on the other hand, this is the first time I ever bother to catch all the new Pokemon I find. While I usually have tons of money to buy revives and full restores before the e4, this time all my money is usually wasted in ultra balls D:
At least Zapdos was a good birb and stayed in the second ball I used. Hopefully the other two will be as nice.
@DarthNocturnal: The first thing I said in that post is that it was fixed for Yellow. The Missingno Pokemon appears still though, but it's not in the same form as the R&B versions. There's just no item multiplying.
I personally never had money problems with Gen 1 games before I decided to play Red and Blue 100% and even then the only problem was to get Porygon and couple of TMs (I consider TMs part of 100% run) from Game Corner. I sold all my useless items and defeated Elite Four 20 times or so before I had enough money for those Game Corner exclusives.
I thought they were playing Red or Blue, I didn't read before inquired about cheats. Also oddly enough I posted the page to Red & Blue, not Yellow and they didn't notice either. Lol nothing was aligned there.
I remembered the other day, that I did the millions of rare candies glitch, sold them all for the cash and bought the 9999 coins for the Game Corner to get Porygon in Red. It was easier to stand there and press A all that time rather than play the slots. Something about it changed in Ruby & Sapphire because I remember getting 777 on the slots frequently enough.
Thanks for all the help everyone 😊😊 can I ask this method of talking the guy then flying to the island and surfing only works in red and blue I'm playing yellow so will it work or do I have to do a different method
@Dankykong: I used my money earned from Elite Four that way too since it's faster than to play the slot machines though you need to press a quite a few times since you can't convert all your money to Game Corner coins in one press of a button. That was even more boring than battling Elite Four over and over. Porygon's price differs between Red and Blue so I bought it in the one where it's only 5000 coins or so.
This is about all I can find on the matter. It's roughly the same idea as the other glitch, only the steps are different, but you still stick the Rare Candy in the 6th slot and make Missingno appear or do the Ditto thing. BUT, the difference here is that Missingno freezes the game a lot. I'm not sure what would happen if the 3DS version froze. All I'm searching are Pkmn Yellow glitches or "Yellow multiplying items" in Google, and it comes up with a lot, but a lot of it is hard to look at and kind of confusing unless you know about the glitches beforehand.
@Late: Lol when I started to buy the coins during this play through, I was like "oh my god, I remember doing this." I have a memory of just pressing A over and over and not even looking at the game, and watching TV. I knew it would keep going forever until I ran out of money or space for the coins.
I'm pretty sure after beating all snorlax's you can get ride of the poke flute the sliph after Pokemon tower, ss Anne after it leaves there's a few more I can't remember right now but cross check just in case @DarthNocturnal:
