I saw on twitter that this game has a spending limit like Rumble does, so it seems like it'll be the Pushmo style where you download what is essentially the demo and you have the option of buying the game in full chunks or as a whole piece for the normal price. I love Picross so I have no problem just paying full price upfront. I really like how they've included Pokemon in the game too aside from just being the puzzle pictures. It actually makes this one stand out some from other entries.

This game was the first one that got me excited while watching the Direct. I won't be using any power ups though since that's just plain cheating. The fun about puzzle games is to solve the puzzle.
If you can't wait to be able to solve some Pokémon Picross puzzles then I've got these for you. http://oi64.tinypic.com/2116kh2.jpg
I programmed a Picross program and drew the pixel art almost a year ago and I thought this would be a perfect time to share these. I took some screenshots and put them in Paint. Sorry for the crude appearance. I made the program in one week so it's not the most beautiful looking and there's one bug that I left in cause I moved onto next project. It's nothing that effects the puzzle, it's not something that you notice as soon as you take a look at the picture.
This turned out to be more of self promotion than a comment about the game... Well, if anyone feels I shouldn't be sharing my puzzles, I'll remove my comment.

I'm sure the Pokemon power ups will serve to make the experience faster and more "arcade" like, which can be good if you don't have time to solve a hard puzzle, but still want to play a bit.
I'd like to know how big puzzles this one has since I solve 15x15 puzzles in Mario's Picross in 3-6 minutes. Current best time in time trial mode seems to be 2:26. I hope they have some bigger puzzles although not too big (bigger than 30x30) since I still like to solve them in one go. Once I start a puzzle, it's really hard to stop before it's solved. I'm guilty for making some really big puzzles myself since it's pretty hard to make small, recognizable, pixelated, black and white pictures.

@nf_2: It works certainly this way. Like I wrote in the Direct summary comments:
A free-to-play Pokémon Picross seemed at first to be a good surprise. Not that I am happy with the theme but a free picross can only be welcomed. That was until I saw the japanese Direct presentation where they actually talk about a "free-to-start" game.
If it's the free-to-start structure like Pushmo was, then I'm not too excited for this. A set up like Shuffle where you have like one play a day and then could buy more would have interested me. We'll see though.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
If it's a demo with DLC, at least the price is usually reasonable. The free-to-play games have been such a ripoff for how little playtime you get for your money that I've continued to only play them for free, but it isn't exactly fair that the fools that get suckered into spending way too much money end up being the ones subsidizing the cost of the game, and I don't even want to spend a dollar on those games to help support them and risk giving Nintendo the impression I approve of their pricing.
Well I have a weakness when it comes to anything Pokemon and I haven't played Picross since Picross DS which was like 8 years ago, so this will be a fresh new take for me. It's interesting it took the free to start way like Pokemon Rumble World, I wonder if this will be the norm for most Pokemon spin-off games.
