Yeah, I just found it this morning on my Yahoo news, and at the beggining I was liking it because it felt like an ironic, satiric editorial meant to prove the exact opposite point of view stated in the header. When I realised it was for real, I nearly puked. I don't think anyone can truly believe the things said in that article, it's too much denial of the reality, but I do believe some tech journalists are on a payroll. "F-Zero, the rally game now with touch controls on your iPad!" It's revolting.
Are these people also clamouring for Sony or Microsoft console exclusives on tablets or it's just a Nintendo scaremongering thing?
Did I go back in time? 2009 called, it wants its "Mobile is going to kill dedicated gaming handhelds" paranoia back.
Also, gotta love how excited he is by the notion of Animal Crossing nickel-and-diming Nintendo's customers to death. I'm not sure a lot of these tech writers who are pushing mobile experiences so hard don't see consumers as anything but giant piggy banks.
Wow... Seriously? I can understand someone wanting Nintendo IPs on mobile, but this guy actually wants them to have micro transactions! I mean, Advance Wars on my iPod could be cool, but with micro transacations?! Nope. And besides, I would rather have it on my 3DS anyways.
Huh... that's one way to look at it. Definitely not a logical or even remotely rational one, though.
But, just to get my two cents out: I consider it downright criminal when a game mainly targeted at kids has microtransactions. And that simply defies the very point of Animal Crossing, which is being a randomized, entertaining friendly neighbourhood type of life simulation. Can't talk about carefree when a full furniture set needs one month's allowance instead of being nice to others.
PLEASE tell me the guy who wrote it is just trolling because I refuse to believe that someone would actually be serious about everything in that article.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
