Topic: New Nintendo 3DS XL speaker broken!

I was playing the Yoshi wolly world demo and during the end movie after beating world 1-7 my right speaker started crackling and now does it at any volume even low. My speaker is blown 😥 I went online to Nintendo's repair sight.I'm a month out of warranty and a repair is $85. 😭😭😭😭😭

My 3DS is in perfect condition and has been babied. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?
Did you pay Nintendo insane repair price?

It's a shame that this happened to you, especially since you've been taking such good care of your 3DS.

In my opinion you got 3 choices:
1) Sending it for repairs to Nintendo.
2) In my country (The Netherlands) there are many smaller companies that offer 3DS repairs for a fraction of what Nintendo charges. So that might be an option for you depending on your country.
3) forget about the speakers and wear headphones

It, in any case, does sound like your 3DS needs some professional help if you want the speakers to work again. Sending it for repairs to Nintendo might be the safest bet.

Hopefully you can get it repaired and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. That's the reason I always get the two year protection plan...
