My 3DS and other Nintendo consoles such as my DS lite and my GBA SP were stolen from my Aunt's house last week, I had several digital games (virtual console and regular 3DS games) it is possible to recover them if I get a new 3DS console in the future??? The 3DS had a Zelda Majora's Mask 3D game card inside so I know I will need to buy that game again (sadly) but it would be nice to hear digital games are not completely lost. I am in Mexico and usually Nintendo doesn't give much attention (costumer support) to Latin America unlike let's say Microsoft so I am not sure if that's possible?

P. S. For some unknown reason the person who stole my stuff only leave my playstation portable with all the games.

Try contacting them. They may be able to unlink the NNID with all your games and make it available for other system.

You may also want to report this to the police. Before NNIDs existed, they required you to send them a document that certified it had been stolen and reported to the police, I'm not sure if that's still how they work, probably not. But you should probably still report it.

You should obtain a police report as soon as possible as Nintendo will usually heed your request if you provide official documentation.

Porygon did nothing wrong.

I don't mean to make light of your things being stolen, but I do find it kinda funny that not even a thief would take a psp.

Really though, call nintendo they might be able to aid you.

Poor PSP... no one loves it...
On a more serious tone, though, as everyone said try to get a police report and call/email Nintendo support, plus you may want to have some of the info you used to register your NNID if the customer representative wishes to double check. I think Mexico has its own Nintendo eshop, or at least support. If it were any other country in LA (like mine, Chile) I'd be more careful - a friend's Wii U was stolen once, and when he send an email to Nintendo to try to transfer his stuff, they banned his account and he lost his games due to the fact that the eshop he used (the american eshop) was not supposed to be used in our area. Good luck, and I hope it works out!

Oh snap! Thanks for the heads up. I'm using the American eShop, and I'm from Australia. Probably going to get some piercings and chain the 3DS to myself so I never lose it xD

Get a new 3DS and call Nintendo with the following info: the SNs of both handhelds, your NNID info, and proof that you are the owner of the original 3DS (your CC info, games you bought, etc). That's what they asked me when my 3DS got stolen. I also lost a game too (Tomodachi Life) as it was in the slot, and my 3DS case and a rare (well it's probably rare now) Digimon strap. It sucks that it (the strap) was stolen. It was imported from Japan

The bad thing is, it was stolen right in my own apartment (in the lobby, not my suite), so the thief is playing my old 3DS in the same building as me. The good news is that when I got my stuff transferred to my new 3DS 3 months later, the thief had purchased 4 games on my account so I got 4 free games. The games sucked though. I wish I could've seen the face of the thief when he/she turned on my 3DS to see all my games had disappeared. Serves him/her right!

well if he/she had purchased 4 games on your account it means he/she must have added his/her credit card details to your account, therefore with the help of Nintendo or the Police you can backtrack his/her full name.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Not if the thief had used eshop cards. Doubt there'd be anyway of tracking that. It doesn't really matter now though, 'cause the fact the thief can no longer play the games that he/she bought AND all of the games that I bought seems like a good enough punishment for me.

If only Nintendo actually had a proper account system, and not one that meant digital sales are practically all tied to one console. It's still a big reason to keep buying physical copies - it's just safer.

No it isn't, it's a reason to not buy physical copies. As the games are tied to the NNID, you can just call up Nintendo to have your NNID transferred to another 3DS. The stolen 3DS loses all its licences the next time it goes online.

He got his NNID back. All your games are attached to your NNID.

I thought I made it clear in my posts that I got all my games back? I said "When I got my stuff transferred to my new 3DS" and "the fact the thief can no longer play the games that he/she bought AND all of the games that I bought seems like a good enough punishment for me." Like Blathers said, once you make a NNID, all the games you have are linked to it. As long as you remember your username/password for your NNID (and the two serial numbers), you can get all your games transferred over to your new 3DS if you ever lose it. Nintendo may have a backwards no-account system, but at least they have a way for you to retrieve your digital games despite having to waste time calling them to do so.

The only thing I lost was my 3DS, the carrying case, the cell strap (which I miss more than the 3DS since it was imported and you can't get it anymore), and the game that was in my 3DS slot (like Morpheel said). I got the last laugh 'cause the thief now gets absolutely nothing. I wish I could get my strap back but there's so many people in this building.

I miss playing Tomodachi Life, and I don't want to pay full price just to replay it.

Indeed

I've purchased again Majora's Mask 3D, but fortunately I've managed to get back all the digital games by making a phone call to Nintendo and giving them all the necessary information and also giving them the serial number of my new Nintendo 3DS XL (great buy btw).

Thank you all

P.D. For the girl from Chile they have a customer support line in Spanish in Nintendo of America

Glad to hear they could help you! I actually had no idea they had a support line in Spanish, it may come in handy some day so thanks.

Did you get any freebies from the burglar, like @Freelance?
