@theblackdragon: I use the random button every time in every game if there is one so it might even be me who chooses that track but it was those two Shy Guys (with exactly same car?) who kept choosing that track and as there were only 6 players at the time it was 1/3 chance that it's gonna be that track I hope they'll do their best and try to fix this as it takes all the fun of this track. It's not that bad track otherwise.
@Oddy: Me too. I remember when everyone for whatever reason always chose DK's Snowboard Cross (/DK Summit) in Mario Kart Wii. Sometimes I had to play that same track three times in a row and they who chose it still wanted to go there. Sometimes I just can't understand those kind of people...
...but I agree with the point of the conversation. Variety is better. I might pick Luigi's Mansion over and over, but I'll stop picking it as soon as the game selects my track. I also consider it polite when playing with just a few players to pick one of their selections after your track has been selected, especially if they keep picking it and never getting their track selected.
One day I hope we can get like ... 1000cc races where it's just everyone crashing into s**t the entire time. That would be so much fun.
That's what Nintendo makes F-Zero for-- oh wait!
Exactly. ;_____;

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Well, I've been playing this game since it came out and...it's easily my favorite Mario Kart. The gliding and underwater add a great deal of variety. The new Rainbow Road is easily my favorite RR ever (with the SNES remake right behind it). The new Bowser's Castle isn't my favorite BC, but it's still really good. The track I'm most surprised about is Wario Shipyard. That track is so sweet. Like most Wario tracks, it really feels like a rollercoaster. The games graphics are stunningly beautiful in 3D. The track designs are fantastic. And battle mode is a blast again. I was playing some battles online and it is a lot of fun. I've had nothing but smooth online races, though I've been left in some loading screens and once I was waiting at the starting line and Lakitu never did the countdown. (What a jerk.)
I'm Zach online btw. I play on NL's all items community sometimes, but many times there's no one playing so I just do random races. My title has changed so many times. I've been a Shell Shark, Banana Blitzer, Bob-omb Master?, Pro Defender, Star Racer, and I think the last time I checked I was a Quick Starter. I'd like to see a list of all of the titles you can have and how you can attain them.

I have had mixed experiences with battle but haven't played it enough to say for certain how much I like it, but it doesn't top Double Dash or MK64, I don't think.
I hated Wario's Shipyard for awhile. I think I'm coming around to the underwater physics though. I still prefer racing in breathable atmosphere, but it's definitely a neat track.
I'm disappointed with the Battle mode a bit... Wish there were 8 or 10 stages.. Thwomp Desert should have been one of the retro tracks. That course with bomb ombs would have been so chaotic lol
But I still think Double Dash had the best Battle courses. I liked MKWii's Funky Kong Stadium and Thwomp Desert the most.
I am very happy with the 6 battle courses. The retro ones are good and the new ones are a lot of fun, especially Wuhu Town. As far as I'm concerned, not having any of MKWii's battle stages is an addition by subtraction, if you know what I mean.
But I would agree that Double Dash had the best battle mode overall. MK64's battle mode is highly overrated. It only had four courses, and I don't care if one of them was Block Fort.
As for the water physics, it barely feels any different to me. I like going in and out of the water, and the underwater areas usually look really pretty.
I think track-wise, my biggest disappointment is the two Wuhu courses (and not because of the glitch). Driving through a semi-realistic world just doesn't have the same magic as the Mushroom Kingdom. But they're still good.

And as for the balloon battle: it's not like nothing happens when you lose your 3 balloons. Sure, you're not out of the game, but you lose three points, so if you're down to one balloon, you have to weigh the risks and be a lot more careful. Overall I think the battle mode has moved a little bit closer to it's original simplicity and is overall more fun for it. There's actually strategy involved this time.
Bottome Line: It's WAAAAAY better than MKWii's battle mode.

Hi ! Um... I have a question. I recently got Mario Kart 7 2 days ago & well I can't seem to find my friend code. Does anyone know where to find it? I really appreciate it, thanks !
Your friend roster on the 3DS home menu. Look for a little square Smiley Face at the top when you load up the 3DS. You use that code for all your online 3DS games.
Go to the friends list and select the card with your own Mii and username on it (on the bottom screen). Your code should be in the bottom right corner of the top screen. BTW, in balloon battle, you don't lose 3 points when all your balloons are popped. You lose half of your total points, rounded up. So the more points you have the worse it is for you if your balloons are popped.
If the 3DS has not been discontinued SM3DL and MK7 are awesome games, but if the 3DS has been discontinued Sony has taken over the world. It is not true that both Sony has taken over the world and SM3DL and MK7 are not awesome games. Therefore:Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are...
