Si, they do. I was getting real annoyed with this kiosk because it kept shutting off. Some idiot probably yanked on the cord, so if you pull the 3ds off the magnet stand, it would shut off in the middle of play. 4 times, and i said f#$& it, and played it by setting it on the stand. the 3d effect was real good though. and when i went underwater, I kinda glided over other racers lol dunno how I did it.
Whaaaaaaaat? I'm heading over to Best Buy to try it out RIGHT NOW. It's unfortunate, but if I don't do it now then I won't have a chance to play it until it releases. I'll be busy all weekend.

Just got back from Best Buy and MK7. The game is just as great as I thought it would be, though I'll have to get used to the gliding physics. Also, I had the same problem with the kiosk shutting off all the time. Eventually I got it to work by not removing it from the magnet.

While that short video doesn't fully make clear its scope or benefits, I'm now growing a little concerned.
Rampant snaking would mean I'd stick to the Wii for my multiplayer kart fix, and just play this one for local features or battle mode. Actually, the enjoyable insanity of the larger number of players online in the Wii version will be hard to top either way, IMO.

Thread noob here. I'm wondering, has anyone else here reserved the game for less than it is? My record is only spending $25 (And if you'd say so, GoldenEye Wii + Controller) on MK7.
... Why?! I thought Nintendo actually said something about making snaking less of a problem! Uuuugh, if it weren't for communities I'd be starting to get mad. Hopefully snaking as become harder..or something.. So dpeople won't abuse it. ... >.>
I call it psuedo snaking... It's not like in MKDS where you repeatedly hit left and right on the d-pad, as you dont see Metal Mario making quick jerks left and right in his kart. Looks like the Egg1 gets sparks quicker, but it doesn't look too significant. Let people snake and look foolish as you breeze on past them... lol
Agreed, but I'm not entirely clear on how communities work yet; are they set up so that you could in fact eject or ban a player? You'd think so, but I could have sworn that early indications were pointing towards a less exclusive kind of community setup.

Yeah, while that technically counts as "snaking", I don't think it helps you like it did in MKDS for three reasons: 1) You need a very wide space to pull it off, which is usually not available, especially with all the items flying around (it's much easier in time trials, see point #3) 2) You have to swerve to the left and right to such a large degree that the boosts you get are largely, if not completely, negated by the extra distance you have to go. 3) The large area you cover makes you an easy target for people with bananas, bob-ombs, fire flowers, and super leaves (if they're close to you), and throwable items (bananas and shells) and track obstacles restrict the space you have to snake in. Other players can easily pass you if you slow down to avoid an item or obstacle. Someone correct me on the above if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure about those three points, and they didn't provide a comparison between a snaking and non-snaking run so it's hard to tell if snaking is really advantageous or not.
BTW, on the latest Nintendo Show 3D, there were a few exclusive clips of MK7, one of which proves once and for all that blue shells (yes, I know I'm obsessed with them) do travel along the ground until they reach the first place racer. There are still some people who don't believe or know that and I'm tired of seeing comments all over the internet like "WTF nintendo WHY did you take out the wings but STILL make it fly? That's so STUPID I'm cancelling my pre order because of that" posted by people who make assumptions about things they don't even know about.
