I concur. In fact if you go on the Super Mario Wiki main page and look at this week's poll, over half the respondents said "I love it when Nintendo puts the spotlight on lesser-known characters." I actually wanted Waluigi, Dry Bones, etc. to be in only to shut all the complainers up; if they were in I would probably use them once (just for completeness) and never use them again.

Anyone else excited about the prospect of playing the original SNES Rainbow Road with big, beautiful present-day graphics? Yeah, we got it on Super Circuit, but not like this. I watched a YouTube video of it in MK 7. Looks better than ever! Music (my fav Mario Kart song period) sounds better too. Perhaps it was cleaned up a bit. Here's the video... [youtube:DQt4LOEHtIU]
I like all the new characters. Metal Mario reminds me pleasantly of SM64 and SSB. Honey Queen is in 2 great Mario games, and seems lovable enough. Lakitu has always been cool. Indeed, always in Mario Bros. I never knew that anyone disliked Wiggler. His presence didn't stop me playing SMW anyhow. And Mii is me, so that must be good.
I'm glad Bowser Jr isn't in it. I've found him obnoxious since he first appeared in SMS. Waluigi was the only bad thing about Mario Tennis. A tenuous and grotesque looking character. Diddy Kong is cool, but I can live without him.
Generally I feel the character rosters on these games have been too big. I think the model of the original Smash Bros. is good; 8 characters, and 4 to unlock. Not that important, but sometimes less is more. Anyone missing Toadette?

I want on Sunday but my mom won't let me she said I should wait till Christmas which stinks!!!!!!!! I rather spend my own money to get it early than wait but I'm getting it either way so I'm good.
Now you can race with BLUE SHELLS AS THE ONLY ITEM! The goal of the race is to get in first, but the first place kart always gets hit and knocked back into 2nd or 3rd. Suddenly, Mario Kart becomes a mental game of wits! This is the kind of thing that destroys human minds! Racing becomes irrelevant, the main focus is now to figure out how many item boxes are on the course, when each player will get an item, and how long it takes a blue shell from that player to hit the person in first place. Don't forget the lucky 7, in which a player gets 7 blue shells! The Blue Shell Guild shall become the greatest Mario Kart community of all time!
I've got it and played for 4 good hours and it is amazing ^^ I blacked out on most of the infos concerning the tracks and it was a good thing I did : The Star cup is the best one in years (with the exception of the second track, which felt underwhelming). The Rainbow Road totally blew me away.
Oh and the music is really good at times ! Especially the cradits music which uses a genre I haven't really met in a game in a while, so that was cool ! Starting the 100Cc and the AI really is getting more and more aggressive, which is a good thing since in 50Cc, they sometimes didn't attack me at all !
thats the problem. what do you unlock for every cup in every CC? its not like you can unlock additional characters... Plus, coins are used for parts, so not sure if you can unlock bodies by completing cups.. can you?
Then again... MK7 has more characters than MKDS... But wow, Waluigi is missing.. I still can't get over how strange that is.
