Topic: Mario kart 7 Discussion

From watching various gameplay videos, it seems that steering left and right is normal controls, but to glide upwards you have to push down to make your kart tilt backwards and vice versa.

@NintyFan, that is a very exciting video. I'm definitely looking forward to racing on that piano track!

Wouldn't it be neat if Nintendo added Legend of Zelda and Kid Icarus tracks to the Mario Kart games?

Does anyone know if there's 3ds download play?

there probably is but they wont advert it, after all they rather you buy more copies

Yes, these is download play. Though, others will be limited to Shyguys like it was in MKDS I heard. Would be interesting if they allowed others to use Miis

idk if this has been brought up already, but here's something interesting.

Just read on Nintendo Everything some more online stuff. When customizing a race, you can choose an item type (examples they give: green shell only, or no blue shells), or you can choose for everyone to be the same character, or you can choose a limit on kart type (i.e. everyone has to use the same frame) — but you can't mix these limitations, so you can't force everyone to be Luigi and also play green shells only.

They also mention communities being created with "specific parameters." I wish someone would just spell out how communities work already. Does this refer to race parameters, meaning a Luigi-only community would always have to race with Luigi-only? If not racing parameters, what else...? I guess we aren't going to find out until the beginning of December.

so you can't mix and match restrictions? that's annoying... not a dealbreaker for me, but I really wish you could set, say, 3 restrictions total or something, that'd be nice

Everyone must be playing Super Mario 3D Land... As far as the limitations on parameters, it doesn't concern me too much. Sure, the more options the better. But I really don't think I'd want to play the game with any restrictions in the first place. All items, choose whatever character or car part you want. Only 2 weeks from tomorrow!!!

I'm really looking forward to learning more about communities. The main thing I'm hoping for is that there isn't a small limit to people that can join it. More than 8 people should be able to be a part of the communities.

I've seen a quote from Mario Kart 7's director that said 1000 people can join a particular community. I also saw an interview with the same person I believe saying that there is no limit to how many people can join a community. Either way, there's nothing to worry about.

Well I just walked into my target store tonight and look what I came out with.

They are selling these "pay a 1$ now get a free 5$ gift card at time of purchase" deals. and it also included a free K'nex Mario Figure! I always wanted one, but didn't want to pay 8$ for the bike/kart
