The complaint isn't that it's simply too similar to previous games but that it's too similar to a previous game which they didn't like as much as other previous games.

So the blue shell does fly after all? Or is it just because he's coming off a ramp? Hmm.

@Adam: It's supposed to hover right before it hits the guy in first so he has a chance to dodge it with a mushroom or somethin'. And yeah that too, haha.

That reminds me, I dunno if it was fake, but saw a video of the game...where the bottom screen wasn't really in "map view" but basically showing your character from different angles. Looked nice, but wasn't really sure if you can actually do that or not...I hope so.

@Adam I think the blue shell travels along the ground and only starts flying when it gets close enough to first place. If you look carefully at right after 0:13 in the commercial, you can see that the blue shell appears to be rising from the ground. I also posted a link (a lot) earlier in this thread which provides further support for this.

Haha, hearing the woosh of the Blue Shell while playing MKWii makes me slam on the brakes if I'm in first

About your alternate use of the touch screen? It didn't seem like you were asking about it. Besides how do we know? I never heard of this before.

Not sure if I can get this launch day anymore since I may buy a 3DS bundle for my brother. Hopefully I can stil buy it.

Does the glider have normal or inverted controls?

I assume Nintendo would give you the option to choose either. Seeing as most Nintendo games opt for inverted, I expect the default to be that, especially since most games use inverted as well.
