1up says communities can play all items, no items, or one type of item. Not sure what type means, if it means like the MKDD item presets, or just picking one item to appear in all item blocks... That would be hilarious.
They also whine that it isn't a game of skill. They specifically call MKDS a game of skill then complain the bullet bill item is broken. Video game jounalism, ladies and gentlemen.

I believe Iwata said that they want their "paid" DLC to be meaningful and worth it. Such as new modes, stages, characters- he doesn't want to do it the way lots of developers are doing it- $5 for a character, really? And that character was already fully coded in the game? GTFO.
I cant see another Mario Kart announcement for quite some time. And DLC would be such a great thing.
I don't think there will be a Mario Kart 8 until the launch of the WiiU
The launch of the system that comes out a year from now? Mario Kart generally is released not long after a system is released. If you want it to be a quality game and not something rushed, they'll be starting on it soon. They have already mentioned in interviews that they are already planning it.r

You dont know that. None of us do. And until Nintendo announces information regarding the Wii U's software, hardware and release date, Mario Kart U doesnt exist.
As for DLC, well, I guess we can dream cant we?

Type is like Mario Kart Wii It had aggressive, passive(I think), and something else Aggressive was like Bullet Bill, Blue Shell, red shell, star, etc. Passive was green shells, bananas, blooper, etc.

Neutral? Where everything was balanced?

That's like Double Dash, like I said. Double Dash came before MKW. I suppose if MKW had the same feature then it's probably what he meant or he'd have clarified. Thanks.

If you haven't played Double Dash, I'm sorry, too.
Also, regarding that list someone posted earlier for the final two cups, I was reading through the comments of the source, and when asked about it, the news poster said he played the game — for what that's worth. The site seems legitish enough for me.
I read the preview. The guy is barely credible. Coin Runners is a new mode? Really?
From what I remember, Coin Runners was in Double Dash was it not? Or, at least something similar relating to Shine Sprites.
From what I have read and seen about MK7, I'm real excited and looking forward to it. When I first saw MKWii, I was excited but not as excited as I was for MKDS to be quite honest. I remember on release for MKWii, I was contemplating getting it. MK7 though.. No contemplating. I really want it
@KomicZ It's not a new mode. It's from Mario Kart Wii. Shine Runners is similar but not quite the same. Whereas Coin runners is a total coin count comparison between teams, Shine Runners is an elimination match (not team based). In Shine Runners a player is eliminated after a certain period of time (if they have the lowest score), which is followed by a time extension and continuation of shine collection until there's only one player left.

I know. The guy who previewed it on 1Up said it's an entirely new mode.. and it isn't. And Adam brought up a good point regarding Bullet Bill, which appeared in MKDS which they said that game requires skill. Really, all mk games require skill.
The Wii version, however, was twealed so anyone can jump in and play. And compete with advanced players. That was their goal. With MK7, their goal is to balance the game out appropriately and focus on the more competetive aspects of the Mario Kart games.
These people are really missing the point and making final judgements in preview builds which is irksome.
They are basically saying "It's the same Mario Kart we played for years. Boring." yet, these folks praise other games that are much "younger" than MK yet have more releases of those games with barely any improvements or enhancements. And they rag on MK7... which actually from the looks of it does bring new things to the table right at first glance.
