Eh, 7's Jap site hasn't been updated yet, so I dunno.

SNES Rainbow Road, huh? I won't say this is true until the Japanese site has updated.

It would be awesome if this is true even though I would've preferred the Rainbow road from Doube dash or MKW.

Let's not forget about DLC. I've got a hopeful feeling that more tracks will be added via DLC.

If there's even DLC to begin with.

I see no reason to expect DLC. I would rather they start on MK8 for Wii U, which sounds like what they're doing.

I cant see another Mario Kart announcement for quite some time. And DLC would be such a great thing.

So basically you want this to turn ino the Madden or Call of Duty of Nintendo? Sure, they can start planning out what they want to do for MKWiiU now and stuff, but I'd like them to actually put some effort into this one (not that they haven't already) instead of just waiting for the next one D:

Mario Kart gets one game per system rather than one game per year.
The thing is that the Wii U is launching pretty close to the 3DS, so if they want to have a good quality Mario Kart title as one of the Wii U's consistent sellers for a long period of time from early on in the console's life, then this is probably a good time to start working on it.

New tracks would be pretty cool, but I really don't see it happening as they have more important things to take care of with their time and 32 tracks is probably enough anyway.
The more tracks there are, the harder it is to be really good at all of them.

Call of Duty has DLC. Black Ops had 4 map packs. Why was that one of the first games you went to? Because it's easy right?

The Zelda team works on nothing but Zelda. Are you going to complain that they are starting work on Zelda 3DS now that Skyward Sword is done? All this team works on is Mario Kart and Nintendogs. I can wait on Nintendogs+cats+hamsters, personally.

The fact that each series doesn't have a new game every year means they put a lot more work into it than the Call of Duty assembly line needs to churn out its annual installment. No reason to rush more content for this installment when you could spend time perfecting it for the next.

Really late to this thread, but I love Mario Kart and have been looking forward to this game since it's announcement. I've been playing since the first game on the SNES. My favorite MK is Double Dash. I'm not gonna brag but...I'm pretty decent :l...but good when I get competitive or just want to beat some friends so I can say I did.
I'm gonna try to get this launch day.
Also it'd be cool if there was some kind of connectivity between Mario Kart 7 and Wii U. I doubt Nintendo would do that but it could be interesting.

Yeah I can't wait for Mario Kart 7 to come out. I'm going to wait to see how the friend stuff works for the game before I start adding people.

1up says communities can play all items, no items, or one type of item. Not sure what type means, if it means like the MKDD item presets, or just picking one item to appear in all item blocks... That would be hilarious.

They also whine that it isn't a game of skill. They specifically call MKDS a game of skill then complain the bullet bill item is broken. Video game jounalism, ladies and gentlemen.

It's because they don't have skill.

And because it's not a shooter like CoD :3

I definitely agree. I don't think there will be a Mario Kart 8 until the launch of the WiiU and I can't even imagine Nintendo NOT launching a home console without Mario Kart but that is still a long way off. Anyway, I think DLC is a great way to go with Mario Kart 7 and the Nintendo 3DS. Plus, if my memory serves me well I remember reading somewhere that Miyamoto was looking at DLC and I know that Masahiro Sakurai has discussed the possibility of it in regards to Kid Icarus Uprising but still that doesn't ensure that we'll get DLC in the end for either games.
