I picked up Friday Monsters this time, I had most of the other ones already. It's an even better sale if you're using those Best Buy 20%-off eshop cards (I got several last time they had that sale, and will again next time) - a $3.00 game is really $2.40!

I'm glad I only paid $2.99 for Liberation Maiden, I really don't like the controls for this game.

I never found any interest in Aero Porter, but since it was just 3€, I decided to get it anyway, since Weapon Shop de Omasse is coming. That way, I can own the whole Guild-collection on my 3DS.

Also, my first message on this forum. Hello all!

Dunno how I feel.

that's what kept me from buying the game.

^Yeah, I was skeptical on that one (B VS T) because of reviews, but once I started getting into it I quite like it.

You shouldent be iffy on Crimson Shroud, if the best out of all the Guild games imo, hours of play too, seriously incredible game, was well worth its initial price and is a steal at 2.99.

After further playing of Bugs VS Tanks, and wow this game is a surprise! The reviews weren't too hot on it, and I'm really not sure why.

Sure, it's not as unique of an idea as many of the other Guild series games, but other than that it's nice. There's a variety of different mission types (some I like more than others, I'll admit), with about 40 missions in total it looks like. There's a bunch of different tanks to collect, and you can even mix parts to create your perfect machine (each one also has a little blurb that describes it's role in real world history). New bug types are introduced every other mission or so, so things never get too repetitive (and there's a glossary where info about every type of bug you run into is stored. It's the same place where the info about all your collected tanks is stored). It looks nice graphically, and the music fits the theme well. There are also numerous achievements (medals) for you to collect.

As for negatives, the map could be a little better, but you get used to it.

All of the Guild games are definitely worth $3, except Aeroporter. That game blows.

@LaytonAprentice, if you're worried about space, Crimson Shroud is the largest Guild title in that regard, coming in at a little over 1,800 blocks.

As for story, it is good, if nothing revolutionary. General premise is that you have a group of three warriors who are hired to venture into the ruins of the castle of an ancient kingdom in order to track down the legendary "Crimson Shroud", which is said to have bestowed magic upon the world. As it goes on you'll learn the truth behind it's history, and what it really is (along with some other twists).

The story is good, and I'd say it's my favorite game out of all the Guild titles that I've completed thus far, but if you want to get into something just for the story, may I suggest Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale? While CS's story is just as great, keep in mind that the battles usually last 3-5 minutes, and oftentimes longer, and are the real hook of the game.

Friday Monsters is a good game but I regret buying it at full price.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Aero Porter - PASS
Crimson Shroud - GOT IT A WHILE BACK ..... LOVE IT!
Liberation Maiden - GOT IT A WHILE BACK ...... STILL LOVING IT REGULARLY
The Starship Damrey - PASS.... not a priority to me
Bugs vs. Tanks - JUST GOT IT FOR MYSELF AND FOR MY SON....... GREAT GAME!!!
Attack of the Friday Monsters - PASS ... NOT A PRIORITY TO ME

Level 5 is by far MY favorite 3rd party game maker as they know how to make fun games that want mew to play more of after I complete it. (Liberation Maiden and BvsT)

Depends. It has decent, arcade-style gameplay. There's a lot of content and unlockable stuff. It also has a good streetpass feature in it.

There isn't a lot of variety in the gameplay, though. Precious little, really. You're using a tank to shoot bugs. That's... pretty much it. Different missions will include different bugs, oftentimes, but it all comes down to the same thing.

still not sure if i should get liberation maiden. i just know the controls will hurt.

how often do you have to press the L-button? it's for strafing right? do i have to press it for switching between strafe mode and mormal mode or do i have to hold it if i want to strafe?

The "L" button gets used A LOT! I cramp up quickly. I'm playing it on a 3DS XL.

Crimson Shroud (Must buy at any price) - This has the deepest & darkest story out of all the Guild titles, the battle system is fleshed out & very unique, and it's probably about the longest title out of the series (especially if you do New Game +). The only reason not to get it would be if you're not a fan of RPGs, otherwise grab it. A steal at the sale price.

Liberation Maiden (Must buy at sale price) - Fast & frentic action, lots of gameplay to be had (a single run is pretty short, but the three difficulty settings & 30 achievements which unlock gallery goodies will keep you playing), and crazy fun Japanese style. The only negative would be the controls I guess, but even as a lefty I had no issues with them. Worth a try at the sale price.

Attack of the Friday Monsters! a Tokyo Tale (Must buy at sale price) - This game may not be for everyone, since it's not really much of a "game" in the traditional sense, but it's one of the most charming adventures on 3DS, the environments are absolutely gorgeous, and anyone who was ever a kid can relate to the adventures Sohta goes through. As someone who is interested in Japanese culture, it's certainly one of my favorites. Worth a try at the sale price.

Bugs VS Tanks (Must buy at sale price) - With 40 single player missions & 15 Co-Op missions it rivals CS in length, the amount of unlockables is insane, there are a variety of different locales (grassland, woodland, spider-web, treetop, desert, marsh, old base, & arena shaped woodland), and there's a cool gallery that keeps track of all the tanks you've collected, bugs you've fought, & medals (achievements) you've earned, complete with models. As some have said, the combat does get a bit repetitive, but there's enough variety in mission types & locale to overlook this, especially at the sale price. Worth a try at the sale price.

Haven't played enough of The Starship Damrey to critique it yet, and don't have Aero Porter.

Crimson Shroud is far and away the best of the Guild game thus far (with the possible exception of the recently released Weapon Shop de Omasse, a game I have yet to try).
