I beat the original Kid Icarus for the first time ever with the 3D classics version, and to be honest I found the complaints about its difficulty to be somewhat baffling. Other than the last labyrinth level, it didn't really feel like much of a challenge at all. (And that was only because I kept getting lost, until I drew my own map to let me get through, which was way more satisfying than looking up a map online.) The first stage was average in terms of difficulty, but then it got easier as it went along and I became ridiculously overpowered. Not to mention that all of the boss fights were a complete cakewalk. So with that in mind, I'm a little disheartened to read so many people say that this game is so much easier than the first. I blindly purchased it as soon as it went up, but I haven't put any time into it thanks to Rabi Laby 2. Based on what I've been reading in this thread I'm starting to regret that decision.

So glad this finally came to the US!!
Really feels smooth.

@accc I've played the Wii VC version and the 3DS classics version and the 3DS one seems to be easier actually. Still really like both versions.

Just got through the second dungeon. Overall the game is easier than the first, but the bosses are harder, IMO.

I believe it was possible to play through Kid Icarus a second time with everything you collected on your first run. Kind of like a New Game +. I guess there are multiple endings.

Yep!
But it's worth noting that New Game+ is not in 3D Classics: Kid Icarus in the eShop. :/

Beat it! Orcos was by far the easiest boss in the game, but he was also the most fun (also the most evil looking thing I've ever seen from Nintendo, lol).

He'll be a nice addition to my VC Boss Run (I always create a restore point at the beginning of every final boss fight, so I can fight them whenever I want, and sometimes I like to play 5 or so final bosses back to back).

That can only be a good thing. I've played through 3D Classics: Kid Icarus about 5 times now, and having full power ups at the start would just take away the intended challenge of the earlier levels, and make it all more boring.

I find the game to be a bet too easy, I have already max out my arrow power, and beat the 2nd boss quickly.
I know the game is a gameboy game, but it looks butt ugly, the NES one was a lot nicer looking but on this, I can't tell if pit is wearing pants or not.

Based on the comments in this thread, I'm unable to determine if Of Myths and Monsters should be recommended to fans of the NES original or not.

Should I just save my money for something else?

is it necessary to know this? what if he isn't wearing pants?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Nintenbro

I hope Piternity tests will be unnecessary. lol

@Nintenbro I personally think it's worth it, but I'm not too good at it. I still enjoy what it brings to the table though.

I found the game to be very easy, should have save that cash for WarioLand II, a way better game.

Thanks for that idea. I'm starting doing that right now for myself!

I'm on the first boss now. Pretty enjoyable game so far, the music is very catchy.

I never quite understood the people who labeled the original Kid Icarus 'too hard' really? I can name ALOT(LOZ and Zelda II just to name a couple) more NES titles that smoke KI in the challenge department. The only thing i found difficult about Kid icarus was the 3rd Fortress, other than everything else was just luke warm in terms of being toughy'

Of Myths of Monsters however is a trip to EasyBreezyVille.

I agree with all of this (well, except for the Zelda & Zelda II mention — i would rank Zelda about the same "difficulty" level of KI, and AoL just a tad above that).
I never understood people thinking KI NES was hard either, with the possible exception of Pandora's palace. And back in the day we only really found it challenging because it was comparatively large, and also because we didn't know back then how the powering-up of Pit was determined, so it would take a million hits to kill Pandora.

Is there anything else I can do after I beat it like the first game then?

I guess either nobody knows, or there is no such feature.
