Topic: Japanese 3DS discussion thread

There's a few of us who have Japanese 3DS', and there's a lot of Japan-only 3DS games out there, so let's have this thread to chat about the kinds of games that we'll never really hear about elsewhere.

Has anyone else played Monster Hunter yet? I suck at these games, and I suck at this one, but the 3D really does add to an already impressive art style, so, even though I keep dying, I am loving this game.

The other Japan-only 3DS game I play a bit is Love Plus, which is still one of the most interesting games I have ever played. Konami's taken a very otaku idea and turned it into a compelling, and very un-otaku game.

@Cho Ｉ've only played the demo for the game...it felt very "otaku"-style to me. It felt kinda pervy...I mean, the demo is just...you know, taking pictures of a girl that doesn't look legal. Anyway...you know...the game doesn't really appeal to me, if you know what I mean...I don't really want to say too much more, haha.

I love my Monster Hunter. I didn't think it would happen before, but I've totally fallen for this version over the Wii version. Its actually totally fun portable.

Have you tried the fifth demo of Bravely Default yet? I think it should be out by now. Don't want to sound like a broken record, but I'm down for some new classic RPG for the 3DS.
Also New Love plus plus is the 3ds one right? So how is it un-Otaku, Based on the video I've seen before its release, I'm lead to believe otherwise o_o

EDIT: nevermind, Some people already played it. Hope BD does get localized, otherwise I may have to import a Japanese 3DS

Weird that they picked that for the demo. Oh well.

The full game is just a high school romance story thing. Like, I dunno, 10 Things I Hate About You or something. I've played genuine otaku games, and comparing Love Plus to those is like comparing Mario Galaxy to Ninjabread Man.

What are some of the J-only games you would recommend?

@Cho I'm...honestly not sure what games are only in Japan. This is the only non-Japanese gaming site I use. >__<

Well, Monster Hunter 3G and for the moment Fire Emblem are the ones that come to mind. I'm not really liking Guild01 as much as I hoped. Ni no Kuni is amazing, and I'm really wanting to get Calciobit. Terry's Wonderland is a sure bet, and its really popular here. As far as e-shop games, Dopamix is really fun.

@Karakato I looked a few days ago, and the 5th demo of Bravely Default isn't up yet. There haven't been any new demos since the large group later last month.

I still wish I would have imported a Japanese 3DS instead of breaking down and getting the special zelda edition one on black friday

I could be playing MHTriG right now instead of... well, nothing.

I wish I bought a Japanese 3DS as well hopefully once Miiverse is made we can transfer our data just by entering a code, then I'll get a Japanese 3DS and Japanese wiiu

I am seriously tempted in buying a Japanese 3DSXL. That way I have my NA 3DS for NA games and such and the Japanese 3DSXL for Japanese games that wont come out here.
