I bought a 3DS on launch. I had pre-ordered it even before we knew for sure what games were coming out on that day. When i pre-ordered I was under the impression that Zelda, Mario Cart and Star Fox were all going to be coming sooner than what is transpiring. It was frustrating only have one real game of interest to me, Ghost Recon. Ghost Recon by the way used to ALWAYS crash on me. I was getting those Black Screen of Death windows asking me to reboot the system left, right and center. When the game crashed this last time and erased all my saved data in the game, that was the last straw. To Nintendo's credit their customer service was very good on the phone and they wanted me to send it to them to repair or exchange for a new system. I instead elected to return the thing to where I bought it and got a refund. Now fast forward three months, I've bought a new one. I have two Zelda games on there which is great even if they're not original. There are a bunch of solid options on the e-shop, something that was not even present yet on my old 3DS. Not to mention we're about to hit the first real big wave of titles come sometime in August. From here until the end of the year we're going to get the selection that should have been present from day one. That's too bad but the past is the past and I have a new 3DS now and I'm glad that there is little time left before we start seeing Nintendo add a large group of good games to the system's catalog.
The owners who are enjoying their 3DS the most are those who haven't purchase a DSi/DSiXL system. Edit: and those who didn't purchase their 3DS base on curiosity.
I disagree. I traded my DSi for a 3DS (discount)
Seconded. I didn't even get a chance to transfer my DSiWare, and I still haven't gotten anything from the eShop.

Thirded! ...-ed... ahem No, I disagree, because I had a DSi (still own it, actually) and got the 3DS and I love both. PS: Some of you guys are just whiners. That's all I'll say. I'm moving on, now. ¬_¬
I love em both....swapped my perfectly...beautiful white dsi for a AAAahem uche ps3 uch.....no, i regret and even had a nightmare about it 2 days ago...even when it's 1.5 years ago
I never traded in my DSi for my 3DS. I'd like to keep all my game consoles so I can put up a display case of all the consoles I own
I got the 3DS because it's Nintendo's next handheld console and because it's a great system. Just as Iz said, it's only going to get better- so, why people are sulking and moaning, I'm looking into the bright future of this system :3
If it wasn't for Mario Kart, Super Mario and Resident Evil: Revelations, I'd have also gotten rid of this piece of crap system. Yeah, a system's launch is never great but this one was especially bad and things really haven't improved much. The upcoming game library outside of first party stuff and maybe a few third party games is absolutely pathetic.
oh how people give up too easy, the 3DS's launch was way better then the DS's 2006 was when DS was becoming awesome (and it launched in 2004 BTW)

Yes only give up on a 3DO not a 3DS, at least not yet

Analog pad where your thumb will be sliding away most of the time.
Internal microphone planced in the very worst position for a handheld.
Headphones connector also in the very worst position.
Very small upper screen, it cannot even compete with PSP.
Fragile L-R buttons.
Top screen being "framed" by bottom one when closed.
3D screen was told to have more than five "sweet spots" from where others can see clearly the 3D effect without double image, well, might has a single sweet spot, and it is as sweet as hard to find.
3D effects that become image distortion if you move the console, and Nintendo was trying to push the gimmicking even more with its giroscopes. So, do you want to play moving the console, disable 3D, do you want 3D, keep the console as still as possible.
3D effects in exchange of a pretty low resolution, and the same applies for the cameras which are the crappiest I've ever seen.
Very small system memory, you will hardly load anything in the browser except the most simple web pages.
I wonder who designed that thing ...
Add the lack of support, lack of games and what is worse, DS, the main battle horse of Nintendo is now abandoned too because of the 3DS.
Things like that (3DS) might pretty well put Nintendo away of the handhelds market for a long period.

Missing the point. I said those who are enjoying the most are not DSi/DSi XL owners. Those who have will still be enjoying the 3DS but not as high.
I had my first born child on the March 27th, on the way home from the hospital I stopped in and picked up my new play thing. I am a nintendo freak. I have beaten OoT for the 100th and had fun with it. I unlocked all the alternate costumes in RE.(all but Rebecca, and that was the best/hardest one to get) Heck I even have logged over 45 hours of gameplay on Shadow Wars. I also purchased SSFIV, Madden, and Splinter Cell. Other then OoT I have had a ho-hum experience. You can only play it so may times.
This is not so much "Nintendo fan" as it is "seek psychological help." I'm not even joking. Is your child just there to keep your wife entertained or something?
I'm really excited for the future of the 3DS. It seems like Nintendo is going to be putting a lot into it. That museum thing they were talking about a while ago seemed way out there, but it sounds promising for whatever else they may decide to do. Trading it in so early is quite the mistake.
I find it really strange that they all came like that. I've never owned a Nintendo product that was faulty and they've all been able to prove that they can take a beating. Even 1up.com, which is often known as not being the biggest fans of Nintendo, praised the high quality build of the 3DS. Maybe you're just incredibly unlucky.
