Topic: Graphical Difference?

I've noticed by watching videos on youtube that there seems to be 2 different levels of quality for some games, primarily the 7th generation pokemon games. Im considering getting a 2DS/3DS because i want to play the old pokemon games again, but i of course want to buy the system with the better graphics.

Images to illustrate what i mean:

Lower Quality: https://imgur.com/a/zPI7wR4

So whats causing this difference? Is one system better than the other? If so, which is it?

@PhoenixFire18 The higher quality videos are from YouTubers who play 3DS ROMs on their PC. They don't play on 3DS. It's a modded version of the 3DS games.

But we're not really allowed to talk about modding, hacking and pirating current gen systems on NintendoLife, so don't ask me how you get those visuals

@Octane I see. But are there any graphical differences between The 3DS, 2DS, and their xl counterparts?

@Octane alright cheers. 1 more question, are there any differences between the 2DS XL and 3DS XL, besides of course the 3D feature?

@Yosheel If thats the only difference, i wont bother spending the extra money on the 3DS. Thanks for the info!

@PhoenixFire18 There is some functionality differences with the Pokemon games when playing on a New Nintendo 3DS as opposed to the original designs. Especially in the 7th gen Pokemon games. There is a noticable delay on Z-move animations and Pokemon animations in general are slower in double battles. I hold to the opinion that triple and rotation battles were dropped not because they weren't as popular but because the 3DS could not handle it with 7th gen graphics. As the slow down was even worse in those battles in XY.
