And yet Best Buy has sent me THREE EMAILS saying that my pre-ordered copy has arrived and is ready for pick up. So unless they somehow got it wrong all three times, I might be able to pick it up today, weird (that is if I can get my mom to take a break from one of her weekend projects...). I'm still going to call the store ahead of time though of course.
It's not only GameStop, in the Target ad it says it arrives Wednesday (the 6th) and est Buy says it will be available on the 8th.
I just called my local Best buy, they said they would sell it on the 4th, same for all the walmarts I called in my area, if all else fails... I can go cry in a corner.

Hmm I still haven't preordered this game yet and hearing GameStop may delay the release and not have enough units I am wondering where I might be able to pick it up. Any suggestions?
You may not bet able to pick it up for some time. I tried to place an pre-order for it yesterday at Best Buy and after it was processed I got an email back saying they were cancelling my order due to the fact they've oversold there stock already and aren't sure when they'll get anymore in.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
I placed a preorder months ago, so I better get my copy tomorrow! >:[

You gotta love the incompetence of people sometimes... Okay, so as I've mentioned before, I got three emails from Best Buy saying the game was ready for pick-up, and then earlier today I even called the store and they told me I could go get it. So I had my dad drive me over (it's a good 15-20 minute drive from where I live) and surprise surprise (I really wasn't at all), they told me it's illegal to give it to me before release day. But on the bright side I got a 20% discount on an 8GB SD card, although my dad grumbled that I should have gotten it for free considering the trouble. Oh well, at least when the game IS in my hands by sometime tomorrow afternoon, all my data will already be transferred and ready.
Hmm... should I go to Walmart at midnight tonight, or just go to my local gamestop tomorrow right when it opens? When I wanted to preorder it they said they should have copies of it for sale on the day of release but that was before all this release trouble...

@WingedFish Did the seriously say the word illegal? I mean going over the speed limit is illegal. It might be against policy but not illegal!
