I only had a single brother growing up, so the whole gag repulsion to that particular curiosity of Japanese fiction never directly affected me, though I definitely see how it repulses others. Second-hand gross-out, I guess? Is that a thing?

I love reading comments. I love seeing how crazy people behave, it's almost comedy gold too see. It's kind of like the internet in it's purest form.

I make an exception for Destructoid, but that's because Destructoid's comments is literally half semi-ironic sex jokes (not saying I love that humor (usually), just saying I rarely have to worry about it being bad).

Well, the comments section of the IGN article for the same-sex marriage thing had some trolls posting gay porn. I was expecting flamewars and debates over social issues. That wasn't what I got...

All this news hurts... Not because I'm against it but because it just reminds me that we're not getting this 'til next year...
That said; it appeals to my imaginative side and it means more options that relate to more gamers. There will be some controversy but hopefully it won't get too overblown.

I'm all for same sex marriages but I remember in Awakening I used to pair guys with guys and girls with girls alot so I wouldn't have someone accidently falling in love in a mixed gender pair and prevent getting the children I wanted with the classes I wanted.

Holy hell I did not expect to see this waking up.

Ok, real talk? As someone that's really against tokenism and pandering, I'm actually ok with the same-sex marriage in this game. I think they included it for the wrong reasons, but it seems like they're not shoving it down our throats. I prefer it if it's not the dominant character trait, as that's mere tokenism, and I like it if they keep it limited to only a select few characters as that's realistic. From what I've seen so far, this seems to be the case, so I don't mind it at all.

You can still do that, I'm sure. Just make sure the pair don't have the "talk". Besides, it might only apply to a select few anyway.

That wouldn't work. Same-sex relationships in Awakening all max out at A and there was no limit on how many supports you get. You need S for marriage/children. Besides, support conversations are all initiated manually, so if you didn't want a pairing to happen, you could just ignore the conversation.

Unrelated, apparently you do not get any EXP outside of main story chapters in the Nohr version, so grinding is not possible. This is gonna be good. ;D

@Tsurii - Oh, sorry; you're right about that. I just saw the NL article on it and didn't know beforehand. My bad.
Wait; so the same-sex marriage only applies to those two characters; right?

That's the point so it wouldn't work and it would free up someone to pair without that worry.
