Topic: eShop download suggestions?

With the eShop update not far away now, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for day-one downloads? All I know so far is that most Dsiware titles are supposed to be there, so if anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them! Thank you in advance

Well, you can always check the DSiWare recommendations thread in the DSiWare section, and as for the eShop, well, Nintendo hasn't released a steady lineup as yet.

MetalStorm. An airplane game where you shoot down other airplanes and upgrade your own jet. It is an iPad app and I played it at a friends house today. It would be epic in 3D!

Well, we don't really know what's coming out the first day... but I'm getting whatever is free.

We will be able to buy DSi ware on the eShop right, they just won't be 3d?

Yeah that's right. I thought I read somewhere that not all of the DSiWare games will be available though. I think a small number might not appear though which games they are I'm not too sure about.

I've got this weird feeling the Dsiware games won't be available right away. If they are I think Shantae:Risky's revenge will be the first one I buy. I'm not too sure about the Gameboy games though. We haven't even heard for sure what's coming on day 1. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

E3 will tell us everything. I think Nintendo is keeping things like this a little more secret since they love surprises. Since their new console is such a big deal and all it's hard for them to keep secrets when they start showing it to developers, so instead they surprise us with the eShop (this is all very optimistic of course, they may just not have anything to show for all of this extra waiting).

Panic not. As a developer, I've had an email from Nintendo confirming that all our DSiWare titles will be available from day 1. I suspect the "almost all" comment about DSiWare titles will be an covering exercise in case some have compatibility issues with the 3DS or in case a developer for some strange reason doesn't want their title moved over (it's been suggested that FlipNote might not make it across since there is a new improved 3DS version).

With NES Excitebike, Nintendo seem to have already set a precedent for home console games to be available to download on the 3DS

I recommend downloading Steel Diver, it's a great 3DSWare game.

There's also a few licensed games on DSiware. That could be an issue.

We know it's coming but there hasn't been any word on when, as far as I'm aware.
