OK, I actually think this is one of the best 3DSWare titles. Not as polished as Pushmo and Switchforce.... but very good.

I'm very suprised. I'd give this game a 9/10 - and yes I'm also a lefty; the controls are easy to get used to, and reviewers are just getting lazy with this.
Also from what I can see from this thead the game is found by most people to be their favourite or one of their favourite eShop games ever - so ask the customers.

I'd rather have a great game for this price than bad games for a lower price. For the record I got Pyramids in the past and deleted it from my 3DS (4/10 in my opinion) so there ya go.

All you need to know is...

pushmo, freakyforms, 3D golf, pyramids, Zen pinball were all great games and i own three out of five of them.

But this isnt game that takes place on 2D plane or on one screen. This is tower defence game with exploration / strategy. The maps are quite large to get around and you will be shocked that your playing first proper 3D adventure game on 3DS that you download from eshop.

Touch screen control are fine - Slide the pen down the touch screen to go into your rolling form repeat to keep momenta. When attacking grock do same but this time keep pen on touchscreen and charge your spin attack then let go and watch dillion smash into enemies. Also if tap screen just before you hit enemy you can use claw attack. And last thing to remember press pen on touchscreen and you can block. It sounds hard but isnt:)

Note - when you first play level your restricted to budget but complete that level and you can return to level in question and use as much money as you want. Which can change how you play:)

TWK - Not as polished as pushmo or mighty flip force?

First pushmo was all on one screen so wasnt really pushing 3DS. And as for MFF it was 2D game and cant be compared?

Rolling western is proper 3D title and term of looks. It looks fantastic:P

I dont know how you can compare 3D game with two games that arent even close to what rollin western does???

@Tate24 Don't get me wrong, this game is very polished, but I feel like subtle things such as some sound elements and menu-navigation could have been perfected. Games don't have to be similar in gameplay, graphics or mechanics to be considered equally polished. Polished: elegant; refined; without error or flaw; finished. Example; you navigate the with the circle-pad and do a select with a touch on touch-screen--you can't use the A-button or any of the buttons to select. There really is no reason to why this should not be enabled. Also, manual camera-control is not very responsive or apparent... but the automatic camera-control works fine enough... so again this is not a real drawback, but small things like this could have been implemented.

So in short...

This game is great and on par with the best 3DSWare games for sure, I just feel like Pushmo is one notch ahead in terms of overall polish.

So to all who haven't bought it and are reluctant to decide on a purchase... don't blindly follow reviewers... buy this game, it's awesome!

I wouldn't necessarily call it awesome. I'm a Hugh fan of tower defense games and was really excited for this one. That said I think the nl score hit it right on the head. I believe it tries to do to many things at once. Its not a good tower defense game nor is it a good adventure game. It combines both to be only a little above average for me. I still do like it and will finish it but its not worth 9.99 in my book. There is other fun to be had at a much cheaper rate.

I've put about 3 hours into the game so far, and I'm loving it. Searching for jewels and minerals in mines, seeking out grook dens, and planning my defense is my favorite part of the game. The nods to Zelda are a nice little bonus, and the combat works well. Every one has a different oppion on value, but I know I'll get my money's worth.

This game is sweeeet. Well worth the money, though I have no clue of the longevity of the game. It's just really fun, and another must own eshop game.

As a lefty, I say other lefties need to suck it up and adapt. I hadn't held my stylus in my right hand once until now, but the controls are really quite simple in the game and are very easy to use. I see it as training for when Kid Icarus comes out, because there's no way I'm going to buy the circle pad pro just for that.

well, i guess you told us, didn't you. personally, i see it more as an individual thing, where each of us can make up our own minds about how much we want/are able to adapt to a game. perhaps you are the one that needs to suck it up regarding the CPP.

I'm just saying you're only short changing yourself if you are willing to skip out on a game because of something as insignificant as handedness. It's much the same as when people complained about which hand to hold a wiimote with in certain games. No need to be so defensive.

As I said, the touch screen controls are incredibly simple and amount to nothing more than flicks and taps with a rather generous allowance for what direction you flick. You don't need to be ambidextrous at all.

I love this game (as the avatar implies =P). I played it a few times and thought it was cool but it didn't grab me...played it again today and it TOTALLY did. There was just this moment where everything clicked and became awesome. I don't understand all the hate.

Dont try to reason with the haters - they are blind to the awesomeness.

I'm loving it so far. At the forth stage right now, it's getting harder and harder. Definitely well worth the money though, feels like this could have been a retail game content-wise.

Make sure the big one doesn't blow up Watch Tower 4 like it did for me (on the third day, just before I killed it)! D:

I'll keep my eyes open.

I'm always really stressed when the enemies starts to show up. Rolling around and fighting like crazy, feels like my towers are barely doing anything at all x)

I'm with you. A good strategy is to put up tons of gatling guns or shotguns in wooden towers. They won't kill the enemies, but they will become small and then you can just roll into them an they will die instantly. This is my current strategy... but I haven't reached the later levels yet, so it may change

Great game!

Birdman

I've noticed that this game runs at only 30 FPS. Obviously, for this type of game, that's not that big of a deal, but I'd just like to point that out for everyone.

Exactly.

Man I was hyped up to heaven for this game. Unfortunately it seems like nothing but a dissapointment, and I'm a righty! Every review is average at best. This read is also the only truly positive stuff I've heard. I'll probably end up skipping this.

I felt the same way as you did about this game. When I first seen the trailer in the eshop of this and sakura samurai I thought this looked way better and had more potential. After playing playing both I've flipped and like the in reverse. Its not a bad game its just not really all that much tower defense. They don't give you enough money to start the day off and you really can't build any towers day one. Which leaves you scrabbling all over the map to try to take them out on your own. Next is the time limit to do anything during the day and evening. There is no way to tell how much time you have so you just hurry around the map and do all you can before the time runs out. If you do well on the first day though it does becomes easier to build but the enemies also become tougher. Even with all those flaws I still think there is plenty of fun to be had and there is a good deal of content for the price. I do recommend still even at that price. It gets better as you get further into the game.

@Tech: The first day is ALWAYS easy. :/ Taking out the enemies by yourself or with just one gun tower is always doable. If it really bothers you, you know there are three gates in every town with treasure in them, right? Assuming it isn't a heart piece, it will be a rare ore you can sell for a lot. And there's some other ore you can mine that has no use (most the time, sometimes they're quest items) but to sell. AND when you beat a level you can come back to it and start with whatever amount of cash you want.
