Nope. The Gameboy Advance is a part of the Gameboy line. Nintendo confirmed that the 3DS is the DS line's successor, even though it looks almost exactly the same and the name barely changed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for it, I just think that for something so similar a completely new line isn't necessary. The jump from Gameboy to DS was huge, this isn't.
EDIT: Also, has OoT been confirmed? I thought it was just a rumor. It seems pretty press conference worthy, but they didn't say anything.
I'm gonna take an educated guess by saying that the wii came out by the NEXT holiday season it was unveiled So I think it'll be released at holiday 2011 I don't think they would price the console at $250 that's a bit too much. I think about $200 or less.

I highly doubt Nintendo would go through an entire year (late 2010 - late 2011) without releasing any new games for their current handheld (DS). It's clear that they're giving the 3DS 100% focus right now, and it's extremely unlikely that they're working on any new DS games from their main franchises. Golden Sun looks to be the DS's swan song, and of course they have that Mario vs. Donkey Kong game too.
BusinessWeek claims that Iwata stated, in an interview, that the system would be on sale by March. I believe it's clear that they'll be missing the holiday season, unfortunately. He didn't even say it would be on sale in the US by March, by the way, so it could launch even later here.

I'm not actually sure that it will be released in the United States first. However, after seeing the warm welcome that the Nintendo 3DS had the E3 and is still having across sites on the internet like GameSpot.com and Engadget.com, then it might be safe to hope or better yet, safer to pray that it will be released this year.
I think that the Nintendo 3DS will be released with a price tag of $199.99 and 149.99 if it is bundled with a game. I'm quite sure that Kid Icarus: Uprising, Animal Crossing 3DS, Paper Mario 3DS and Star Fox 64 3D and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be the bundle offerings along with the mysterious "3DS Play" which I think will be along the lines of Wii Sports or Wii Party.

I'm gonna say around $200.00 I don't think its going to be as pricey as the Wii was, but it will be a ton of money. I want to say it will be released around the same time Japan is getting it. I think we will get it same time as Japan because, we got SMG2 and NSMBW before Japan, and they gave us a preview of the 3DS in America!
