So it's a third-person strategy RPG like Valkyria Chronicles with comic-book visuals starring a steampunk fighting force sent by Abraham Lincoln to fend off Lovecraftian aliens.

...You know what, sign me up.

And people wonder why Nintendo doesn't bring out new IPs very often.

That's how it should be sold. I was on the fence before, but now how can I resist.

This is almost like my perfect game. Strategy RPG + Comic book style, and it's a brand new IP from a developer I love. Sorry, Splatoon, you're adorable but you just got pushed down to number two in the most exciting things for me in Nintendo's E3.

I'm not sure what to make of this, it shouldn't of had the big 3DS game hype as it left me disappointed for not being a new Metroid/F Zero/Advance Wars but the wacky ideas may make me get the game depending on it's reviews.

round based?? the only round based game i like is advance wars. this looks like it would be better with realtime combat.

so far i dont have any hopes for this game but i will wait for some more footage

its being made by the Fire Emblem/Advanced Wars guys. Therefore...

i know but i dont like the style of the game at all. another thing is that i love advance wars but i hate fire emblem. steam looks more like fire emblem (gameplay wise)

I don't know why people thought it was going to be MM3d. A remake of a game doesn't need a 90 minute presentation. Further more neither does any current franchise. It had to be a new ip as nothing else really fit that long of a time slot. Tbh I thought it would be something dumb along the lines of Wii Sing 3d or something stupid like that. Glad to see it's actually a real game imo. I love both Fire Emblem and Advance Wars but I've seen next to nothing on this so I'll reserve my opinion till later today once I see it up and running.

That's what I was thinking too.

I find it amazing how many people are disappointed that this isn't Majora's Mask 3D... everyone's already played the game, do we really need a slightly upgraded version? It's not like we're in the same situation with the 3DS when Ocarina of Time 3DS came out where there was virtually no games.
I'm much more excited for this than I would be for a new Metroid too... It's something fresh and looks really interesting, and seems like something I might like.
It's not like we're never going to see another Metroid game again.

I'd like to have Majoria's Mask 3D too, but pick it over a brand new, built ground up for 3DS game? No way. Maybe MM3D will still come, but it should be a low profile game, like all those PS3 HD Collections, not a major part of the E3 reveals. I'm stunned at the poor reaction to this game. Have people forgotten how good Fire Emblem: Awakening was? These guys are one of Nintendo's best teams.

I actually didn't really like Awakening, but I love the Fire Emblem series in general and I have faith in these guys, this looks really interesting.

I think the main problem is people are confused by it, saying it's a shooting strategy RPG set in a steampunk world fighting lovecraftian monsters with a silver age comic feel is confusing as hell.

Don't like Awakening, didn't want to see a new Metroid, and really don't want MM3d?? Defriended.
P. I kid! I needs Metroid and I never finished Majoras Mask so I'm waiting to see if the 3d version ever happens before I do. As for Awakening, I've actually only played up to chapter 6 or 7 but other games got in the way. For me I could tell it was an excellent well polished game. I do want to get back into it one day.
