I'm gonna put the name in spoilers since the game is out tomorrow and you might want to see for yourself.
It's the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz

I downloaded the game last night at midnight. I played maybe about an hour through before I fell asleep. The first levels are the ones that were available in the demo. I like this game a lot. The enemy turns can be annoying. I think that what they did makes sense, waiting and watching the enemy's turn prepares you for your next turn. If they zoomed out so you could see the whole map it wouldn't be so boring, but then that takes away the enemies advantage. I see no way with how the game works to make this better, and personally I am fine with it. It also prepares you for playing against a real person, who you would inevitably have to wait for.

It's a neat game.

I wish more people including reviewers understood this. It makes total sense and part of the strategy is to only be able to see the enemies movements through your players eyes. All part of the 3d environment they were going for. Shame a lot of people are so hyper they can't wait for something so simple and it works this way for most strategy games. Guess the genre is just not for them.

Snagged a copy yesterday, and from what I have seen, you better get this game fast if you want a physical copy!

Anyway, the full game is slightly different than the demo. The Buckingham Palace mission is actually the second mission in the full game. Some cutscenes are added. That title screen, lol! Just as I thought, this game is so awesome!

When I added my medals in from the demo, I unlocked 7 or 8 weapons, which was cool. I love the Phoenix Rifle. It knocks enemies back, but does little damage. It is fun to set up with it, and have another teammate on Overwatch, the aliens can't get close, lol.

Played 3 1/2 hours...wasn't nearly enough!!!!! Love it!!!!

I wish I was able to play it more yesterday but I'm still in the demo parts and played a little multiplayer with my son.

I'll be waiting until next month to get this. Hopefully when I get it I'll be able to devote a significant amount of time to it.

You just might have to put a lot of time in it, as I am 7 hours in, and on mission 5, I believe. I just got Tom Sawyer, and did the Lincoln mission. It looks to have a lot of content, honestly.

actually i have never played a game like that. yesterday i finished a demo version. it could be my favorite game. but i should wait to discount.

Picked this game up the other day, but I don't plan on starting it until I'm done with MM3D.

I am on mission 12, and unlocked all but the last character. The best all around character seems to be Henry. Nice main gun damage, for the steam cost, and an awesome special...love it when he says, "Red, White, and Boom!" Lol

Fox is also another character I really love using. Great steam usage on Overwatch, since it is halved. And, an amazing special, double damage and range?! It only lasts one turn, so you have to time it just right, but man can she turn the tide. Also, with the Scout Boiler, her steam is refilled to max constantly, giving her amazing movement range if she gets in trouble. I throw a Mine Layer on her, for her secondary, for added protection, and to funnel incoming enemies.

Carter is one of my favorite literary characters, but I just don't like him that much. He can be fun to combine his Lure gun with the Bananapult, though, lol. His special, however, is amazing, and can put a 1/2 damage shield on the entire team. One of the best specials in the game.

I can't stand Tom Sawyer, but he can be funny to throw a Phoenix Rifle on, and knockback foes constantly with it, and his Punch Gun.

Scarecrow is really awesome, love the character, and his Stunner works really well. His special is nice, too, but being random, it is kimda unreliabe.

John, Lion, and Queeqeg are all kimda interchangeable heavies. With the Medi-Boiler regen they are all awesome. I kinda like John the most, simce he can break objects, but his special is kinda limited. I wish it hit all surrounding enemies, instead of a targeted bubble. It is still better than Lion's Roar, or Harpoon, though.

So much fun

I'm going much slower but just unlocked the specials. For those that think this is too easy think again. You really have to weigh out your option for spending money to revive and or save it for upgrades.

I never did it in the demo, but did do it one time early on...a Restore All. Never again, such a waste, and the upper tier medal secondary weapons are expensive to get to...not impossible, but I would rather waste my time and just re-do the mission. Plus, it felt like cheating...felt bad the one time I did it, lol.

I finally picked up a New 3DS over the weekend. I'm still playing a few backlogged games that I was already in the process of playing on my old 3DS but as soon as I'm done with them, I'm looking to pickup a new game. I really enjoyed the Code Name Steam demo and I like both Advanced Wars & Fire Emblem so I wouldn't mind buying this game. However, I'm also thinking about Monster Hunter 4 or waiting for Xenoblade in April.

I'm hesitant for this game because of the waiting during enemy turns. This was the one thing I hated from the demo. That and the camera but I played the demo on my old 3DS and everything I've read says that it's better with the New 3DS's C stick.

Downloaded mines midnight Friday and I am loving it. I guess It's because I never played a game like this before, ever though I heard there are similar game prior to this one release. Guess I'm a fan of this type of genre now.

Only made it to stage 6-1 and so far my favorite characters is Henry, Tom, and Queequeg but that might change once I progress farther.

The downside is whenever I play my other games for example Fantasy Life or RE: The Mercenaries 3D, I watch my steps (based on the use of steam concept); I think I might be playing too much. Also not having a New 3ds XL or a NFC reader (not released yet) because I have 2/4 of the compatible amiibo but I can't send them in-game.

I got whupped a couple times on the final stage of map one. It's a fine balance between moving along but not rushing ahead...

I absolutely love this game so far! Heck, even the enemy turns don't bother me because

1) I tend to kill a ton of the aliens so their turns get shorter and shorter making me feel like I've made progress
2) I'm busy planning what my next move will be based on how they move
3) I'm busy freaking out over how a little thing I didn't take into consideration is turning the tides and causing me to be backed up to a corner again

Just beat the mission at the factory area and I was tense the whole time, those eye things really do put the pressure on you

Got it on Sunday. Pretty good so far. Though a bit challenging at times.

Those stinking little flying netter things are real annoying, caused me to lose too many squad members...
