@Spoony_Tech I think I saw GameXplain say that theirs would be up in the evening of the 18th.

That makes sense. I'm eager to see some reviews, either to confirm my suspicions or to be pleasantly surprised.

I am not sure how well the Reviews for this will be. I feel like if anyone gives this a decent review, the "fans" will attack them. I expect a lot of ok to bad reviews that don't really talk about the game but instead just explain how this isn't like other Metroid games. I am getting this game no matter what, but I hope reviewers won't get caught up in the whole "this isn't Metroid" arguemnt... sadly the Blast Ball review didn't fill me with confidence lol

@MarcelRguez I just re-read the Tri-Force Heroes review and that was a really good review. Went into how the mechanics and missing features hurt the experience. The Blast Ball review came off more as someone that expected the game to play a certain way and it didn't. Which is why I think Federation Force is going to be murdered in reviews, when it is most likely a 7/10 game, based on what I have seen and experienced with the game so far. (Tri-Force Heroes got 6/10)

@MarcelRguez The weight of the ball and speed of the mechs adds to the depth of the mechanics. Blast Ball is very much a Team based game. The team needs to move the ball together. The team needs to manuver correctly to both defend and attack. Some of the power ups do need to be re-balanced a bit, but it wasn't anything game breaking. If the gameplay was quicker and the ball lighter, one player would rule the whole field. You wouldn't need to rely on your team as much. Rocket League counters that by having the field be a lot bigger than Blast Ball's field, but the amount of time between scoring in these two similar games feels about the same.

Going to Federation Force, I think the art style, and with that the visuals, are really nice. The visuals add a lot of character to your surroundings and enemies.

I rarely get to play 3DS games with audio and I rarely get to watch videos at work with audio, so I cannot comment on that as much, but what I have heard sounds good. We will have to see when it comes out, but I think too many reviews are going to focus on how this isn't like other Metroid games instead of looking at what this game for what it is actually doing.

@MarcelRguez speaking of the shots, I've found them useful throughout various circumstances. When defending, I'll usually have a fully charged shot ready to repel the ball back. When around the middle or close to the other teams side, I tend to use a level 1 or 2 charge to hit it towards the goal and the non-charged shots to put on various small touches to the direction and help make corrections. After playing it for awhile and learning some of the mechanics I've come to enjoy it quite a bit overall. After unlocking all skins, this is what my stats were by the way.

@MarcelRguez I don't see what you are talking about the HUD, the HUD looks like I am inside a Mech. Also, I don't see the point of comparing a Multiplayer Co-op based shooter on the 3DS to a Single Player First Person Adventure series from the GameCube/Wii character design. The Console games were made for different GamePlay and different Screens. (Hunters was made to replicate the Consoles experiences, hence the similar art styles between the DS game and Console games with similar GamePlay)

Again, with the audio, I haven't really heard much, so I can't comment on it.

The pirates clash with the chibi aspect of the humans because, well... they're aliens, so they don't really have to conform to what humans look like (especially when you consider that most pirates in this game are twice the size of a normal Marine). You could also argue that it was done to make the players and enemies easier to tell apart, because things seem like they can get pretty hectic.

Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

I fully expect an average of 7/10 for this game

I hope. It will be terrible if reviews just focus on how this isn't like other Metroid games, like everyone else has been focused on since it was announced.

Here's an interesting opinion about the game:

Personally, I'm quite sure that the game will receive mostly 7/10 reviews with the occasional 6/10 and maybe even 8/10.I predict that Nintendolife will give it a 7. I won't be able to get immediately, so I hope that whoever gets it shares his opinion here because at this point I have more credibility in the users from this site than the reviewers when it's about this game.

Im still in that small pocket that doesnt care either way about the game since 3D Metroids will never be my cup of tea and I have zero realistic expectations in them bringing the franchise back to 2D.

That being said, I think it's funny that they, only just now, decided to disable comments and likes for the Fed Force trailers (including the new one they just uploaded highlighting Co-Op).

Yikes and ouch.

The loot aspect and hidden areas with treasure seem pretty exciting

I'm actually a bit hyped for it. Strictly cuz of the gameplay. Not the Metroid parts of it, or the art style. But I am a sucker for co op and loot based games

Take the Metroid out reviewers and judge the game as if it was a new ip. That's how I'm mostly looking at it. Too bad Nintendo doesn't seem to be pushing this at all.

They're determined to push the embargo out to as late as possible. The game will be available for purchase in a few hours and there's still no reviews. Usually when games do this it's a bad sign and as has been said they've made no effort to promote the game either.

you know you guys could look up Japanese reviews.
Famitsu scored it a bit back and I think it rounded out to 30/40, which is neither awful or glowing (hell, they usually rate things really high, even giving SF0 9/9/8/9 or something absurd )
