@Tyranexx I actually have almost all of these on 3ds and good choices.

I play lots of Nintendo games, and Playstation games too. Mostly platformers, and rpg's. Also love playing multiplayer games with my friends!

@Zuljaras Is it cheaper across the pond? Most listings I can find from a quick search show that the game is fairly pricey in NA, even used. I know there's an HD version on Steam, but I'd rather experience the game as nature intended.

@AstralRedStar705 Thanks! I've always liked the 3D "gimmick", though it's rare that I crank it up to full blast. It isn't needed for most games per se, but I feel like it adds a lot to them. Particularly those built with the effect in mind. I feel like any complainers either played some bad third-party titles, cranked the effect up too much, or didn't take breaks to prevent eyestrain.

@Tyranexx hmm now that I looked for it I can see that most listing on Ebay for USA are around 30$. I got it for 15% 2 years ago. I guess the price changed too much:(

Still 30$ is low compared to some other 3ds games that are above 70$ and keep rising.

Tyranexx

@Zuljaras Very true; the rising prices make me glad that I picked up many of the remaining DS and 3DS titles I was interested in before the pandemic hit. Many of the listed prices I've come across so far are for used loose copies, but I'd prefer CIB (A new copy isn't happening lol). Time to start shopping!

@Tyranexx buy them now while you can. Don't compare these prices with the past, but with the future.
30-40$ that seems now expensive, in some years will be very cheap.
I can' t say that for sure from all the experience that I have from the last 2 decades of all Nintendo consoles.
So make a list of what 3ds games do you want and search for them with patience!
When you find a good deal crab them!!

@Guile Oh, don't worry. As mentioned earlier, I picked up much of what I wanted in the year or two leading up to the pandemic since the 3DS was losing support; building up my DS and 3DS collection is one of the reasons why I didn't pick up my Switch until late 2019 lol. That said, while I've confirmed I have all the RPGs I'm interested in, there are still a small handful of games, both physical and digital, that I want. I've already hit my entertainment budget for this month, but next month I hope to grab Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (found an agreeable price earlier) as well as Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

In addition, I'm debating about picking up Code Name: Steam since it's so ridiculously cheap. And I've been on the fence with a few eShop exclusives, such as Fluidity/Hydroventure: Spin Cycle and Crimson Shroud.

Yeah you have absolutely right. I also gave some priority on 3ds games. I also bought a switch in 2019.I had around 70 physical 3ds games until then. And the last 2 years I bought another 50 3ds games some dirty cheap and some with normal price. I was lucky as since then many titles have insane price right now.
As you have mentioned code name steam (I also say dead heat dillon) is dirty cheap and worth buying both of them at that price.
I have almost complete my 3ds collection (except rune factory 4, hakuoki memories and 4-5 exclusives japanese titles).
Now I give priority on buying eshop exclusive games that I 'm interesting and of course if using the stereoscopic 3d(that' s the main reason). Every week I find some of them at sale so I made a good progress.

I’m sure I’ve seen this thread before somewhere! I agree with all those mentioned so far, and Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon would definitely be my first call. However, I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned Donkey Kong Country Returns - that is an incredibly pretty game, with excellent 3D.

Yes great game with excellent 3d effect. So much depth that you lose yourself in the forest!! I caught myself many times just to watch the depth of the stages without playing, it's that Good, Absolutely worth it!! Also all the cut scenes uses the 3d effect and you can re watch them everytime you want if you finish the game and find all the puzzles. It's not an easy task but it's totally worth the effort to unlock the cinema gallery.
I wanted this feature be available also on xenoblade chronicles 3d (event theater) but we were out of luck as only in switch version you can replay any cut scenes of the game.
I was Really disapointment as I wanted so bad to replay all the cut scenes on xenoblade in 3d!

@Krull Thanks for mentioning Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D! I completely forgot I had that game. In fact, it's the only way I've experienced that title.

@Guile I've noticed some countries/regions have cheaper prices on some 3DS games, or at least had longer print runs of certain ones like Yo-Kai Watch 3. Unfortunately, due to region locking, I've never picked them up as I don't quite want to pony up the cash for a regional 3DS.

I absolutely love the 3D effect and can't think of a title I've played that uses it poorly, though I often research games before I buy them too. I've heard stories of some earlier eShop shovelware using the effect horribly lol.

I love the country returns 3D but it is quite rough without 3D. And that is with a new model.
