That's a pretty interesting idea. Indeed, I was kind of hoping for this back when the e-Reader was out and the third gen Pokemon games were meant to be compatible with it.

the problem in this would be that people would spam their best card to get the same pokemon all the time unless they do some irritating feature such as the 24-hour delay to tranfer pokemon from Gameboy Advance to the 4th gen DS games, plus limiting one card per pokemon making matters even worse....
They could make Pomemon AR as simple as just adding the Pokemon on the card to Pokedex 3D Pro. Spamming the card is one thing(like how eReader would let you scan a card as many times you want for items in Mario), but giving you info about the Pokemon or letting out of game interactions like the AR cards that have virtual figures is a different thing.

Yes, and if they made virtual figures that can be seen in the AR app(like Mario, Link, Samus, etc.), not only in the game.

they should at least update the ar app to accept other nintendo chars and giving the option to mix miis with nintendo characters.
