Well, this is the kind of game you just pick up everyday for a bit, so if there's one game that would benefit from always being on your 3ds it would be this game. I'm lucky with the Too Many Games promotion so I'll be getting AC as a download version as well, the decision to choose this game as the free downloaded one was a no-brainer really.
3DS unboxings are getting less magical anyway, they already were less exciting because the manuals are gone, but Donkey Kong really killed it by having no DK related paper in the box at all. I know it's better this way, but I'm just old fashioned regarding this kind of stuff. I want manuals!

I prefer physical with very few exceptions. My first exception thus far was Layton because I wanted the free DK digital download promotion, and I've not regretted it because digital has kept me up to date on the daily puzzles. My next exception will be Animal Crossing because I need to have easy access to my town every day. After all, I will be the mayor, that's a huge responsibility. I need to keep an eye on my subjects- I mean, my citizens.

I've not downloaded a full retail title on my 3DS yet, but I'm getting Animal Crossing as part of the 'So Many Games' promo. I still have the 4GB card that came with my 3DS XL, and I've only got Colors 3D and Super Mario Bros 2 downloaded on it. I assume I'll have enough space left for Animal Crossing..?

I'm not exactly sure how many blocks the game utilizes, but I've got an 8gb card with 50,000 blocks available. I'm hoping that'll be enough space for AC and other downloadable titles. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 16gb card but only if I absolutely have to.
Definitely getting this digitally. This is the kind of game I'll be playing in short bursts many times a week, most likely. And I've really enjoyed having Donkey Kong so readily available.

Retail for me, the game cart probably won't even come out of my 3DS for a while between playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf and the Oracle games and Shantae later this month.
I'm getting a physical copy, because I'd rather not pay a stupid price for it.
I don't understand. It's $35 in the eShop. Is it cheaper to get the cartridge?
I'm definitely going digital: I'm so good at losing things, and I already have 5 or so game cartridges. Carrying any more around with me is just cumbersome.
For this, it's physical all the way. I've had this preordered and paid off for a couple of years now. When I go to get my copy on Sunday, I will also get the book, which I also preordered. GameStop knocks 20% off the book when you get the game, I get the power up points for both, and I have an issue paying the same price for digital as for physical. Plus I like having the case.
The hard part for me will be retiring from Wild World. I picked that up day one and played it every single day, save for two days.
I always get the physical carts as far as retail games go. However, that decision is purely based on personal preference. I like having my games side by side on a shelf or book case of some sort. It's really neat when friends and guests visit my apartment and can actually see all the different games I have. They never would've known about my sweet gamin' collection if they were all hidden away in a dark corner digitally on my 3ds.
Digital, because I don't want to give the middleman retailers my money instead of Nintendo, its much more conveiniant to boot up, and digital copies never get broken, smashed, or eroded.
It's a fez. I wear a fez now. Fezes are cool, just like bowties.

Wonderful point! I am the same as you when it comes to the reason I like buying physical carts. I like having everything nice and neat next to my Nintendo memorabilia on the shelf. Also, sometimes I don't know what to play, and I get a different feeling browsing through physical copies, rather than just moving around on the console looking for something to play. However, I will admit that it does seem very convenient to get them digitally (especially that there are midnight releases). I don't see me converting 100%, but I think sometime this year I may give buying a digital version of a retail game, a shot.
