A couple weeks ago I remember one of the head people at Nintendo saying he would like to remake ALTTP, and saying how great it would be in 3D. I also remember reading someplace that they wanted to include a SNES game for one of the classics.

that would be great, but they seem to be already saying the process is more trouble than it's worth and it would be easier to build a game from the ground up sometimes. Hopefully that's just talk and they eventually put out all the greats in 3D for download. Anyway, I'm just hoping there's one big game in this initial group of 3D classics.
The word on the street is we are only getting like 6 of these and none have been thrilling so far. I heard rumors a while back of 3D classics Castlevania. That might be cool.

I heard NES Zelda and Punch-Out as coming. Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island for SNES were mentioned as well. Also, Miyamoto strongly hinted that 3D Classics Virtual Boy games are coming.
I like all those rumors. I would definitely buy any classic Zeldas, Castlevanias, and Marios. And Punch Out would be perfect I could see that being one of the first 6.

I'd rather then completely update A Link to the Past when they bring it to 3DS rather than just slap some 3D on what's already there.
I've been hoping for something like that for a long time, but it doesn't seem like something Nintendo would do any time soon. I'd rather have a new handheld game first, anyway.

3D classics Exitebike was created without using any code from the NES game, if the same were done for ALTTP then technically the game would be completely redone from scratch.
