Topic: Adding funds to 3DS eshop help

Hi, I have a Zelda 3DS NEW with a pre installed Ocarina of time (LE box). And a standard 3DS XL NEW. I want to transfer my account over to the standard 3DS but will I lose Ocarina from the LE pack. I’d like it to stay with the original console it came on but I guess it’s now tied to my account? OR... I'd just like to buy new games for the standard 3DS rather than transfer.

Is there any way I can get funds onto the eshop anymore? Credit cards and shop vouchers have not been discontinued. Basically I would prefer to just add new shop games to the standard 3DS but not sure I can.

Any help appreciated… it doesn’t really matter but would be grateful if anyone knows of a workaround. I keep thinking I’ve worked it out but then I hit a brick wall with not being able to have 2 x 3DSs on the same account etc. I don’t want to share the eshop games. I'd just like to be able to update both consoles with new games before it shuts down for good.

Appologies if this is talked about elsewhere and maybe I'm making it more complicated than it actually is?

If you have a Switch and your Nintendo account is linked to the NNID on your 3DS - here's a guide on how to do that - you can add funds via the Switch eShop and they'll be available on your 3DS too. I think you can also still buy 3DS eShop games on the Nintendo website. Either way though, you only have until March 27th to buy anything on 3DS.

I think pre-installed games can be transferred, so you shouldn't lose Ocarina if you do a system transfer, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully someone else will know for sure.

Thanks. Very good advice. The trouble is I have two 3DSs and can’t link both as Nintendo don’t allow it. But… maybe I could open a second new Nintendo account and add to that. Hmmm… that might do it!

Oh… it’s an Ocarina of time SE. My mistake. Same problem though.

@davekel I have some 3DS's with different account each one. You can still add funds if you have a nintendo account linked with your 3DS. So possible you can have 2 different account for your 2 handhelds and add funds directly from nintendo.com. But be careful because you need also 2 different e-mails.You can't use the same email address for 2 nintendo accounts.
And Also when you make a transfer system to another nothing will be missed. Everything is tranferred the games, the dlc etc..And your first system will be completely empty (and you can create a new ID and link the account with it)Be careful with address e-mails...I have some 3DS's with different account each one. Thank you. Great advice. I transferred and you’re quite right… everything transfers. Now I’ll follow your advice and set up the wiped one.
