As of now, in the US eShop there are DreamWorks animations. Two of them were featured on Nintendo Video, the third is a music video of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" featuring Shrek characters. They are said to be "treats", so I figured I check them out.
They all cost $1.99 each. WTF, DreamWorks and Nintendo?
I'm back with a shiny new 3DS, yay! FC: 5370-0428-9949 Walker is the best Animal Crossing character ever.
You're a little late, haha. We've known about this for over a week now. Also, you shouldn't be surprised. Nintendo announced before the 3DS was released that there would eventually be videos available.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
Oh know! Companies want to make money off of their creations, whatever will we do! On a more serious note, I downloaded Night of the Living Carrots, it's definitely worth it for Monsters Vs. Aliens fans.

I got the thriller video because it's the only one I somehow missed in Nintendo video. Seeing Lord Farquad dancing with the fairy godmother makes it totally worth it, though. The next video I'm planning on getting is the one featuring the pigs (can't recall the name atm). I really enjoyed that one and was sad to see it replaced in Nintendo Video.

Thriller was only given a 50 second preview on Nintendo Video, if you want to watch whole thing you have to pay for it.

Oh didn't know that because I missed when the preview appeared. Anyway like I said, I got it and it's enjoyable so it's all good.
If they started offering full length movies for download I might think about it. For a 5 minute video though no deal.

IMO The night of the Living Carrot Video was a good deal, its approx. 13 minutes for 2 bucks, the others weren't as funny so I didnt want them. (And I can just put Thriller on my 3DS Sound if I really wanted to hear it)

A few points I want to make here: 1. I'm fairly certain that it's not the works of Dreamworks and Nintendo. Dreamworks is the one who probably decided to price them $1.99 on the eShop, and they're probably getting most of the money. They're just teaming up with Nintendo, but I don't think Nintendo is getting that much of the profit, they didn't really make the videos. 2. Dreamworks sucks. 3. Yes, it is a rip off, but I don't think it's quite Nintendo's fault. The real crime, I think, was teaming up with Dreamworks. 4. Dreamworks sucks again. kthxbai
DarkSquid - Actually, it's Nintendo's fault they're at $1.99. Their eShop pricing model has a minimum price of $1.99 per item, most likely to avoid a deluge of $.99 apps that would inevitably come and overload the average consumer with options. And, if it makes you feel better, on iTunes, Disney prices those Pixar short films that play before the feature film in movie theaters or come as bonuses with DVDs at $1.99 each, and those are shorter than the Dreamworks videos on the eShop (and not in 3D!). So, I guess you can take solace in the fact that short film extortion is not Nintendo exclusive.
Also, if any of you have downloaded one or more of the shorts, do you get Club Nintendo Coins for them? Not that I'm planning to get them (I'll find a version of Thriller on Youtube if I feel like seeing it), I just want to know.
Already watched the carrot one on Nintendo Video, and it actually was pretty entertaining. But I'm not paying for it, as some games on the eShop await my purchase...
Okay, if you Americans don't want them, we'll have them. I'd gladly pay £1.80 for a 3D video from DreamWorks, I think it sounds like an absolute bargain.

Yeah, I hope this is coming. I'm not a big fan of Dreamworks though, and that's probably the first company they'd strike a deal with. I want Mean Girl in 3D. =D
