It's that time of year where video game companies are hosting showcases, and the latest one was from THQ Nordic.
For Switch fans, THQ shared new trailers of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake and AEW: Fight Forever. The new SpongeBob game was originally revealed to the world last year. And AEW was more recently confirmed at the start of this month after a retailer leak.
Here's a look at both new trailers, along with a description:

So I have question.
THQ was used to be the publisher for Barbie games during PS2 era.
Modern Barbie games are now only on handphone.
Is that possible for new publisher to publish new Barbie games on console since THQ is no longer publish Barbie games?
I am beyond thrilled about the AEW game! Especially since it looked like something more approachable and just fun instead of focusing so much on simulation! It's just cool to have options that represent different styles. I'm also hopeful that this runs better on Switch than the WWE games did 🙏
@Anti-Matter they need to permission with Mattel, before making any games base off any franchise they don't own. that's why your seeing games base off of AEW and Spongebob from THQ, they just own a license of the games, if the licenses expirers and said company doesn't renew it. then they lose rights to making any games from them. the reason you see mobile games of barbie, is because they have a license agreement with Mattel.
anytime you see "Product is a trademark of Company Inc" you know who owns the actul rights to said product.
hopefully that answers your question
Glad to finally see some actual gameplay of Cosmic Shake. I thought it might have been in development purgatory or something. It's unfortunate we still don't have a release date, though. Apparently, a leak has been doing the rounds that, in the words of SpongeBob from Dying For Pie, "We should be able to finish by January!"
The AEW game is made by YUKES?
Looks more like "YIKES" to me
It actually looks really good, and looks like a worthy successor to bfbb.
SpongeBob game looks ace!
Wow, aew game is so ugly to see😂
@Anti-Matter why would you ask this? Who wants that to happen?
AEW by THQ!! Going to play like the classic N64 wrestling games!!
@Jireland92
Because I have interest with girlie games like Barbie.
Barbie games were used to be published by THQ during PS2 era.
@Jireland92 Him clearly. Different strokes for different folks.
Spongebob actually looks pretty dang good!
Does THQ own the stuntman series? I was randomly thinking about it the other day and how I’d love one or a remaster on the switch.
Looks like a current WWE game, not sure if it'll be any good.
@Edu23XWiiU
It looks more like a WWE game from 2009
Anyone else wondering why Patrick is a balloon like I really need to know, its bothering me.
Considering all the other games THQ announced that aren't coming to switch, we desperately need a switch 2 ASAP.
I did not know they'd done more then one SpongeBob?
For all, the bragging done pre-reveal, Fight Forever looks incredibly rough and amateurish. If I remember correctly, part of the reason WWE 2k20 was a shambles was because Yuke’s bailed mid-development and threw 2K under the bus on the way out. If I remember correctly again, they claimed that 2K were holding them back from making a truly great wrestling game.
And this was their big return to the genre…
I'm excited for the spongebob game!
I’m not surprised by the direction the AEW game is going given how many times they pushed it as a successor to N64 wrestling… It looks like it plays exactly like the old WCW/NWO N64 games. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but as someone who was looking forward to a return to the roots - perhaps catering to fans of the classics (like myself) was not the right direction.
Wow it already looks better than WWE 2K22. Hopefully the final game doesn't disappoint, it needs a CAW mode though. With this game in the making, THQ had finally made games across 3 promotions: WCW, WWE, and now AEW. Only ECW, TNA, and ROH are the only three that they hadn't made games for.
Sponge Bob looks great 👍
@ZapNCrap Most likely due to an effect of the cosmic shake? But gameplay wise I assume he'll basically be the Luma or Cappy of the game.
@KillerBOB still bad hahahaha. WCW/nWo Revenge, No Mercy have the best gameplay.
I'm a sucker for these cute games
@Anti-Matter I don't think your question is relevant to the article...or this site
So Playstation/Xbox will get new Alone in the dark and Gothic and we get new Spongebob? Feels like we got the short stick
