dimi commented on 3DS Sales Jump in Japan Thanks to Kingdom Hearts:

Yeah true. I rarely use the 3d effect. It makes my eyes hurt. So my niece's. The dual screen isn't really needed! So many would much prefer a PS VITA with 3ds software. Why they dont join forces? Dont they see that the price of software is ridiculous? And still Nintendo doesn't really understand why they fail big in Europe. Its better deal to buy 50 ipod touch or ipad games to your kids than one 3ds game. .

Why, why, why on DS? Gameboy Advance is still alive and kicking! I dont think that the game developers took full advantage of its true technical capabilites till now

dimi commented on Miyamoto Focused on New Franchises:

Nintendo's biggest hit in last 20 years was Pokemon. It even sells more than Mario (with some exceptions). That wasn't Miyamoto's baby. Miyamoto only gave us Nintendogs. Nice commercial move but not something for core gamers. Pikmin was ok but lets face it a commercial failure. (i want a pikmin 3ds though). And age is always a factor. I mean Rolling Stones (the rock band) are still great at their 70's but nobody expects a great new album from them.

Great idea how nobody see it coming? A 2d Mario title. Wonder how it will turn out. It will surely sell loads. I cross my fingers for a Pokemon RPG announcement now. Never a dull moment with Nintendo.

Nintendo bought Square-Enix? :) A Pokemon MMORPG in Wii u? A version of Unreal Engine 3 mobile running on 3ds or a new graphic engine for Wii U? One can only hope.

P.S: I love my ipad 1. With a keyboard it can be near as good as a netbook/laptop on many levels. On other levels its much better (with far more restrictions ofc). But in general a really expensive nice multimedia device with affordable software.

dimi commented on Xenoblade Chronicles Assaults UK Top 10:

@mariofanatic128 You've got a point but outside Fragile Dreams the other titles are hybrids (strategy/management/sim). Quality games all of them, but still far from enough. If only we had Dragon Quest X sooner things could be different. Western RPG's like Mass Effect, Dragon Quest series are great games too. I just hope we will get more RPG's in Wii U. Why can't Nintendo make some new 1st party RPG IP?

dimi commented on Xenoblade Chronicles Assaults UK Top 10:

@Widdowson91 I dont think that in general jrpg's sell better in Europe than the states. At least according to tracked sale figures, depends on the platform again. I can't remember a jrpg (or rpg) that make good sales in Wii in general though. (were there any decent ones outside Monster Hunter Tri - or Tales of Symphonia?), That is one of the biggest issues more "traditional" gamers have. Hope Nintendo understand there's a market for it outside Japan, even if its not Final Fantasy. I wont buy Wii U just to play new Zelda (in 4 years) and Mario's and Zumba Fitness 2 again.

dimi commented on Xenoblade Chronicles Assaults UK Top 10:

The sales were very good. The game is already localised in English. Reggie just need to publish it, the cost is minimum. (Ofc it would hurt to do a little lip sync). We want all wii and 3ds rpg's in english.

Another thing. New love plus with the right advertisement can sell very well in west. How they know that love sims arent popular if they never publish them?

dimi commented on Review: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii):

Well in super NES era north american's had Earthbound, we europeans had Terranigma so there was a balance. Japanese bastards have even more games :)
As of Xenoblade english version In most cases i prefer the original Japanese dub from american one but its really nice to have british accent in a game. I will def buy this game when i get my salary at the end of the month.

dimi commented on Review: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii):

Nice review but its too early to talk about death of the console: New Zelda, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, and we still wait for the ultimate release: Dragon Quest X. Best year for Wii gamers in Europe. Yes sales have slowed down but are far from dying. Check the game charts, wii still hold all top spots. Still there's lack of support from Nintendo and VLC releases

Stockmarkets ruined everything. Now the stocks of the no1 videogame company in the world are in the lowest level of six years. Big lol. I dont care what "games" with the stocks the "golden boys" are playing but Nintendo was the absolute marketing phenomenon of the past six years. Are they out of their bloody minds? Wii and DS sold like 250 million units in an industry that even surpassed the movie industry! I dont give a flying crap about what these "investors" are planning. We're talking about guys like George Soros, the most high profile of all these market sharks that made over US$1 billion profit in one day by short selling sterling in 1992! Video games and nintendo are here to stay.

dimi commented on 3DS Price Cut Helps Machine to Huge Sales Hike...:

3ds ratio, game software sold/console is only 1,72, Wii is 7.87 and PS3 is 7.86. The price of two 3ds games is more than half of the value of the console. Thats very expensive. Ofcourse its still the start of 3ds lifecycle and not many good games are out but still the price of the software need a pricecut as well.

I really hope Xenoblade will get decent sales. Even if its the worst time of the season i mean its dead season till 10th of September. Smaller shops even close for few days during mid-August in Southern Europe.

By the way: Sony of Japan is continuing a series of surveys at the japanese PlayStation Vita community site. They opened a question asking readers what peripherals they want for the platform.

Will Nintendo do something similar or they only care about low sales?

Resident evil 4 on 3ds would be great, but a gamecube not an iphone port! It doesn't even have to be 3d. But yes i agree that software prices are too expensive as well. Take Dr. Kawasima's brain training series. It was a major hit at ds but after android and ios people wont pay 35 dollars/euro for this crap even if its on 3d.

dimi commented on Investors Urge Nintendo to Develop for Smartph...:

Yes a mini Mario game for 99 cents would sell loads but that wouldn't be as profitable for Nintendo. By the way platform games DO work on iOS only if there's only one action like jump and automove. Nintendo should focus on making better games for 3ds and wii u. Maybe launch a more "mature" franchise. Actually 3ds could be great with more educational titles, like 3d zoo, and other things for kids. If both 3ds and wii u flops worse than Gamecube then we will have this discussion again. But i dont think they will.

dimi commented on Feature: 3DS Games Worth Buying Before Mario:

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Survivor Overclocked is just a DS port. I love the series, specially the Persona titles. I would buy hands down Persona 4 remake or a new exclusive Persona on 3ds but not a DS game with cutscenes with ....voice?? Who cares about that?

Edit: Ah, its on 3d thanks for the reply. Well if i had to buy one of these titles i would go for this one anyway.

Star Fox 64, well another Nintendo 64 classic remake with added 3d effects, why they couldn't make a new game? Still a good one.

I will buy Xenoblade but i'm not very optimist about sales in Europe. Check how much Golden Sun 3 (in ds but still) sold in Europe and how much in US. Now even Monster Hunter Tri sold like 200k in Europe. Xenoblade isn't nearly as well known. A Xenoblade flop will be bad for european users as well. The last story>pandora's tower

DS models sold another 10k units next to 16.415 of the 3ds. With 3ds to be near same price as DS after the price cut there will be a huge sales boost. I expect 3ds to go more than 100k in japan the first week after the price cut.

Well 2d Mario in Wii sells more than double than the 3d parts so that should give big N some hints. Same thing in DS. Nintendo was always gameplay over flashy tricks. Look at "Time traveller" 1992 arcade game for holo experience. Very impressive at the time but unplayable. The first half-life game can make you ten times more dizzy than the 3d effect of 3ds. Just run at full speed at a modern computer.

Nintendo is not a charity organization, its a huge multinational corporation. I love japanese culture but this isn't a honest open letter, its just another P.R press release. Ok, i like Nintendo but its not a religion or a football club. What about 10 free DS games instead of GBA ones?

dimi commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Makes Bold Move with t...:

Nintendo and Sony specially in portable market are facing a new reality. Things wont be easy for either of them. Nintendo will make up from the price cut from software sales anyway. In my opinion its the price of software that needs to be cut too. There will be far more sales this way. 20 dollars/euro is a fair price for 90% of the titles. 30 euro is fair enough for high budget titles like Mario, Pokemon, Final Fantasy etc. And some of us are not anymore teenagers/college students, so we would appreciate more "mature" titles. I don't have a 3ds yet. I plan to get one now, but still there's no software to support it. The only game i really want to play is Resident Evil Revelations.

3d was the last thing we needed from Nintendo. Mario in 2d sells still more than double than the 3d versions. Can't nintendo drop the prices on DSi XL and DSi as well? 3ds remind me a little of this holographic game, time traveller. I kinda like the 3d effect, its cool, but it was not needed.

Oooh, poor Nintendo shareholders. I don't feel sorry for these guys at all. The employers will be the one that will pay the price as always. Cause Miyamoto may lose 30% of his salary but many people will lose their jobs and their ability to feed their family. Nintendo stock value will grow again strong.

Nintendo DS had new ip like Nintendogs and Brain Training that took advantage of the DS prime power, the controls. For people that own like 4-5 or more versions of Mario games is Kid Icarus re-boot enough? I think not. 3ds need some decent RPG's

Don't leave price at the hands of retailers.
Nintendo should understand that software need a price drop too....If Mortal Kombat on iOS is fun at 0,99 cents (even with crappy controls) and a full Square RPG like Chaos Rings is just little more than that then you need to make games 40 times better to justify the price. We're not at 2004 and "itouch" and ipad is an upgrade of the "touch generation" experience. Ok maybe Mario Cart and Pokemon Violet worth full price but most other titles dont.

Why 170 dollars and 180 euros ffs. 1 euro =1.4446 dollars... Why europeans have to pay so much more than the americans? We got major financial crisis especially in hm..south and we still get to pay more. Anyway its still ok i guess... but still the software sucks..and no just more Mario and some Pit wont save the deal. Get some original JRPG's and not just remakes. And get a western release to some dating sims like new love plus wont hurt you know....
