One of the new features in Pokémon Sword and Shield is the "dynamax" ability – allowing trainers to transform their pocket monsters into giants on the battlefield for a short period of time. There are also raids in the game where you can fight alongside other players to defeat these overly large Pokémon.
With this in mind, Japanese Nintendo is reporting Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak have applied for a Dynamax Band trademark in Japan. These bands can be seen around the wrists of trainers in the recent Sword and Shield Direct presentation. Here's the application:
This trademark is said to cover a number of purposes ranging from exercise equipment to game tools, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles and even plush dolls.
Are you looking forward to dynamaxing your Pokémon in this upcoming release? Tell us below.

This stuff is clearly Viagra for pokemon.
Yes, of course. 😀
Giant Pokemon is kinda interesting.
@BloodyMurder beat me to it.
Buy Dynamax Band alongside Dynamax pills and see an increase in size within weeks!
Wishing somehow World Tournament would be brought in from B/W2. Loved that gimmick.
@BloodyMurder
Dynamax Band TM, means to getting bigger Pokémon and bigger muscles
Increase the size of Pokemon,but not the size of the Pokedex.
Nononononononono. Stop it.
Bad GameFreak. Bad. Stop it.

Setting your pokegear spam filter for Dynamax pills
Dynamax is the laziest addition to the Pokémon meta, and the fact that it’s replacing megas and Z moves makes it so much worse.
The worst thing about Sword and Shield so far has been the "fans".
But that's pretty par for the course with Pokemon.
@Galenmereth I have played since Red and Blue too. It's not as though I think people have to like every Pokemon game or anything. I was certainly vocal about what I didn't like about USUM. But people seem to be legitimately angry to outraged about this. Although I honestly hate throwing this word around, I can't help but feel it fits, people seem really "entitled" about this. Like Game Freak/Pokemon/Nintendo owes them a game or something and they aren't delivering.
I'm not thrilled about the Pokedex thing either, but it isn't as though we were promised something, bought the game, and the game and the game wasn't what we already paid for.
@Heavyarms55 @Galenmereth
The evolution of The Pokémon community:
2017: “USUM my foot, we want Pokémon Switch and Gen 8!”
2018: “A Kanto remake with no wild battles and Pokémon GO? We want Gen 8!”
2019: “Gen 8 but it doesn’t include gens 1-7?! How about you take your time GF!”
That...Is an angry looking Raichu.
@WoolooSweater “Gen 8 but it doesn’t include gens 1-7?! "
People with intelligence: "It does have gen 1-7. Just not every single Pokemon. That is not a hard concept to grasp."
I'm still buying the game. I think people need to chill out. I'd bet a Switch that SwSh still easily sell several million copies... each.
@Heavyarms55 yeah I was just making fun of the people who get upset of the SwSh Pokédex cut. I am gonna buy shield, and try out the new Pokémon in it.
I am hopeful for dynamax. Glad it looks like any pokemon can use it. I am hoping it increases the base stats relative to the level of the Pokemon instead of a percentage bigger, so it opens up the use of more Pokemon. Also would be nice if it altered support moves in some way, it will be sad if it is simple a stat buff though any move synergy would be nice.
