Gaming accessory maker YesOJO has now launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its dedicated portable Nintendo Switch speaker - an accessory first revealed last September.
The speaker hopes to provide buyers with a way to experience greater sound quality while playing Switch on the go, with the design clearly focusing on enhancing tabletop mode play. The speaker system features dual stereo 10W speakers for what YesOJO describes as "perfect audio quality and volume, providing rich audio quality and a deep resounding bass".
As you can see in the trailer above, it also doubles up as a Switch dock, connecting to your TV via an HDMI cable. Perhaps our favourite part of the design, however, is the interchangeable panels, which just so happen to match the colours of Nintendo's very own Joy-Con.
YesOJO tells us that, if the campaign is successful, the company will give away a free game card holder, and if $300,000 or more is raised, it'll give away a free retro-style pro controller.
You can find more details about the product on its Kickstarter page - and pledge your support to get one for yourself, of course. At the time of writing the project is 20% funded with 40 days remaining. There are a limited number of Early Bird options available, costing an approximated £77 after currency conversion.
What do you think? Does this look like a cool accessory for your Switch? Would you like to enhance your console's audio quality when on the go? Tell us below.

Can be useful, can be used docked is a good point and the matching colors.
Have they said anything about why it wouldn't brick my switch but other docks could?
Well, i hope it will not brick the Switch.
£80! Looks pretty but I wouldn’t pay that much
I wonder if anyone will mention the word “brick” in the comment section to this???
Oh....
Brick brick brick brick.
Ya’ll throwing so many bricks ya’ll building ya momma a house...
Yup, I agree with the others.. anything claiming it can act as a dock needs to provide some kind of evidence that it won't brick the system.
However, as a portable speaker/stand it could be fun. I wonder if it's possible to adjust the viewing angle (otherwise it's useless in tabletop mode too).
@Stocksy Brick xINFINITY!!!
cool idea, ill probably think about it after we get confirmation that it won't brick your switch
I can't wait for this to get fully funded, get delayed for a year, get a massive unwanted redesign, and cause your Switch to explode if you use it.
That thing is in serious need of some boombox style panels.
I was gonna go for this until I heard it works like a dock. Sorry, but I don't wanna own a 300 dollar brick.
So... aside from potentially bricking your system, it doesn't seem to have neutral grey side panels, so as a bonus, your speaker/dock will alwyas end up looking like a toy! NEAT!
I want nothing more in my entertainment center than components with flashy colours. This is a dream come true.
</sarcasm>
They started by saying that their business has grown to offer a number of different products now but they still want to do this as a kickstarter? Sorry, spend that revenue more wisely or simply don't overstep your bounds too soon.
Neat but I'm still not willing to risk my console with a 3'rd party dock.
So for their problem with the OJO projector failing as some can see the replies for supports what would make this worth getting now as their other product has show bad end results?? I supported Skull and they so far have had not problem so far. Anything with Projector for Switch has so far failed pretty badly.
@JayJ "Neat but I'm still not willing to risk my console with a 3'rd party dock."
Same here but knowing Skull has done a good research and shown and told how they are doing so gives more confidence they wanted to get it right.
This would be more useful to me if it had a built in battery bank instead of acting as a dock.
Nice, a new way to drain the already short-lived battery.
No fonction left behind.
I don't understand what purpose this is supposed to serve
I will not get this product it looks cool and all but if it bricks my Switch will all my saves and game loaded. No, that is far to much risk and if they aren't willing to pay to fix the Bricked Switch that also will give me pause.
I see no reason for this especially at that price, perhaps they are thick as a brick?
Switch isn't loud enough, make it louder.
@Joeynator3000 "Switch isn't loud enough, make it louder."
Then Dock it.....lol
What a useless accessory. The Switch has a really good set of speakers built in.
@SwitchForce Or just use 3.5mm TRS speakers? Funky brain wiring says it's silly to say "use a bunch of A/V, charging and overclocking hardware for loudness," but then again we're talking about something that isn't just for use in the living room.
@Mountain_Man "What a useless accessory. The Switch has a really good set of speakers built in."
I would like to respectfully disagree. Even in a quiet environment we only find the speakers to be tentatively passable for listening to music. This dock is a great concept, since it basically provides a lot of flexibility that seems to include use as a Bluetooth sound bar for phones. It's basically an all-in-one solution intended to reduce the need for cables and separate pieces of hardware.
The real problem is that it's marred severely by safety concerns due to the Switch's poor compatibility with the USB Power Delivery specification.
@ELRinley get a good pair of headphone and plug into the Switch.
I don't trust this company . For a start - very poor attention to detail on the subtitles on their video - plus they deliberately tried to confuse the Lumens issue on the Ooo projector
I feel like headphones are just a better option, if we're talking portable. I'm not it's worth the bulk to carry something like this around.
What Sonic game is shown in that trailer? Looks like a 3D Green Hill zone.
Cute, but at that price, why not just buy something that you know sounds great for less money? There is no real surprise that it is not funded. It looks like a toy and they don't even talk about sound quality. They also claim it as the first Bluetooth Switch speaker, but only ever show it docked or sound through HDMI. We get that it is a Bluetooth speaker that also works with the Switch, but to claim it is the first Bluetooth Switch speaker is misleading at best. It also has a 15000mAh battery and only lasts for six hours. Who is going to buy this heavy battery device that barely lasts through lunch? Speakers like the JBL Xtreme have a 10,000mAH battery and boasts 15 hours of sound. I have used the JBL Xtreme in the past and can verify that it gets very loud and lasts over 12 hours at the highest setting. It retails for the same price, offers 1/3 the battery life and have 1/2 the wattage drivers. I very much doubt the quality of this speaker using such a massive battery and having such laughable numbers. I get it, you want an all in one, but do not waste this much money on junk like this. Instead, buy a cheaper version then a JBL Xtreme and still get better sound along with a Bluetooth adapter for the switch and just put the Switch in your Nulaxy Foldable Tablet Phone Stand (or similar item) and you will spend a similar amount and all of your products will last longer and be much much lighter. You will thank me later when your arms are not tired from carrying around this PoS that weighs too much and delivers too little.
TL;DR: This is like getting a JBL Xtreme without the loud volume and bass, bigger and heavier 15,000mAH vs JBL 10,000mAH battery with somehow not even near 1/2 the battery life (Switch gimmick speaker 6 hours vs JBL Xtreme over 12 hours at max loudness), the JBL also has drivers that are 20w over this speakers 10w and is contained in a form that uses air to help create bass and improve sound. If it looks like cheap plastic and doesn't present itself as better then cheap, it is most likely cheap all around.
Maybe Donald Trump is secretly backing this? They’ll use the millions of ruined Switch consoles to build the wall?
Their projector project got alot of bad replies back with alot of defects.
@SwitchForce Sure, I'll just put this big honker in my pocket while I'm cleaning and exercising and then turn around and hog the headphones when playing with someone in a not-so-quiet environment. =P
You might as well say that there's no valid market for Bluetooth soundbars.
Why buy speakers compatible with everything when you can get something useless that could potentially brick your console? Also: Kickscammer.
@ELRinley even so it does look good but if it bricks Switch that is not so good and they have no warranty listed on their site if it Bricks your Switch they would replace the Switch. And had so far provided no video evidence in testing to show how it works not on prototype but pre-production model so we can see it working. Demos of people using is good but a end of product model should be available for them to do a YT test for us to see it working and when Updating your Switch what it does. This is the Biggest Concern of Switch Owners Nintendo will not Honor Bricked Switches and those out of Warranty is in worse position.
