For me, I just care that game developers put the proper love and time into the games they develope. Thats more important to me that the genre.

I think this is why I gravitate to Nintendo. For the most part this is how I feel their first party games are made.

This , to me, is most important because not everyone likes certian genres and those that do are rewarded with greats products for their hard earned money.

The secondary effect is good scores and reviews attracts people to try new games.

I like how I read it the other day. The Wii U is like a 150lb person benching 300lbs in a room with 2 300lb. guys benching 400 lbs. Pound for pound the Wii U lifts far more than its own weight. Just overall its competitors lift more.

Ill admit im ignorant to this fan funding thing. Is it we fund the developement, and then have to pay for the game with no return on the investment. If that is the case I find the whole idea to be complete garbage.

If the game had real demand investors would fund the project. Its just that they would get a return on there investment. Maybe the whole point of this kind of fund raising is to bypass this.

I hate to go political but its no different than me paying my taxes to support some people that are able but refuse to work.

All that said. I absolutely love Eternal Darkness to tge point I beat it all 3 ways for the ultimate ending. I havent done that for any game. Im not a platinum trophy, max game score, collect all the big coins or hearts person.

Ill support the game by buying it day 1.

zionich commented on Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo:

Is funny how the comments and voting block don't seem to be lining up. The reason I agree with the letter is that this is different than other console launches. Nintendo rode the success of the wii for all it was worth. Nintendo hopefully didn't foolishly think that those costumers would be repeat customers. Nintendo had everything to gain coming out strong, but also everything to lose. Yes this is hindsight, but now the position, like it or not, is play massive catch up.

Just another reason for me to dislike out current administration in America.

Now if the building was being attacked and they continued their mission it would make sense. Not saying that knowing that you have killed people with a touch of a button is easy, but it's alot different than getting shot at and defending fellow soldiers lives.

Next Congress will get medals because they "helped " make decisions. ...

I blame Xbox and Playstation for having to many fps games. They should be banned from homes :P

Right now Nintendo is Nintendos biggest threat. I buy a Nintendo console for Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem (recently :) ). Mario is hit or miss, I personally don't care for Pokomon but I know people love it.

Nintendo needs to get it is their IP that sells there consoles. 3rd party games are generally an after thought because either a) people don't own another console and it would be nice to have them also or b) they are playing the 3rd party game on another console.

When the finally decide to go all in for the games that makes the Nintendo brand great, which they should have led with one, consumer and developer confidence will improve.

The sooner they do it, the sooner WiiU can take potential ps4 sales. In the end it always about the games.

What confuses me is that it has been called childish for a person to boycott the game yet Ubisoft gets a pas for doing what's good for business. What happens to the days of voting with your wallet? There is nothing childish about choosing not to purchase a product for something you disagree with other that how a person might be presenting that decision.

Also, a person could choose to but it used or discounted. This is how capitalism works. That money that would have been spent on Rayman mightnow go to purchase Monster Hunter :) (shameless plug for my favorite game).

What I'm not getting is how does it profit them to delay the WiiU version unless it wasn't close to completion and this is just convenient timing to save face. But from what his comments might suggest is they found a programming flaw that Nintendo needs to fix or possibly a gaping hole in security.

My problem with Nintendo's last 3 Hardware releases is they are not showing what thier hardware is capable of. Dont get me wrong Wii Sports and Nintendo Land Show off implimentations, but dont show off the console. Steel Diver and Piolet Wings, same case can be made.

I know im not as smart as Nintendo's think tank, but in my opinion they should start leading the charge with some killer software, not just tech demos made into a game.

zionich commented on Review: Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS):

I I have missed out on this series. I have had the ambassador version sense it came out just never really gave it much thought. I loved Shining Force for the sega consoles and just didnt expect Fire Emblem to live up to that. Im starting to think I was dead wrong. Just into Chapter 4 of Sacred Stones. Loving it so far. Guess i need to try to get my hands on other versions now lol.
