The Castlevania animated series currently screening on Netflix is an example of how video games can be successfully adapted to other forms of entertainment. The first season comprised of four episodes left fans wanting more and the second season made up of eight episodes has proven to be vastly superior - with the tale arguably only just beginning.
For a while, we've known a third season has been in the pipeline and now Netflix has finally made it official. According to Deadline Hollywood, Netflix has ordered a 10-episode run for season three - making it the biggest season yet based on Konami's classic video game series. Currently, there's no word on when exactly it will premiere, but it's likely to show up at some point in 2019. In case you missed it, read our review of season two.
Have you been watching the Netflix series of Castlevania? What do you think of it so far? Tell us below.

I still need to get around to watching this.
This is the literal definition of a binge worthy show
Fantastic! Season 2 rocked! I'd love for Nintendo to do something similar with Metroid for instance.
Hopefully it won't take until next Halloween.
the way it's going, i hope it will last as long as Dragon Ball, just on and on and on......
I don't want to spoil anything, but who here has completed season 2 ???
Since the show doing is so well... how about a game Konami?
Netflix is getting me to sub them back. lots of good stuff to look forward too. while I'll be using Hulu for stuff like Persona 5 and other anime. since Netflix doesn't own the rights to some of these.
also i hope the rumors about diablo are true. i really do.
Let's just say that Season 3 is perfectly set up to adapt Curse of Darkness, which gets it a hell yes from me.
Also...
"...my boy..."
You're gonna carry that weight.
Watched season 2 in one night, and was still wanting more.
I can't wait.
The ending of season 2 left me really wanting more.
Not touching this. Have a work trip next week - should keep me busy the entire train ride there and back
Man, that last episode in season 2... I nearly cried. I truly felt for Alucard.
@jhewitt3476 it's really good! More action scenes, lore, plot,.... It was awesome
Just finished watching season 2. Ready for the 3rd season.
Ready for the 3rd season! Castlevania is my FAVOURITE franchise! Those games will be on my 1st place ... forever.
Stil need to watch this, but in happy to hear that an other season is coming
How about a new game as well Konami?
When Netflix makes a Zelda series i hope its based on Ocarina of Time. That one though simple, is the most easiest adaptable in a series.
It's not the best show ever, sometimes it is not really well animated, sometimes the sound design is kinda weird, but whatever, it's Castlevania 3 on screen, it's not bad at all, if you love Castlevania, you'll spend some good time, not the best ever, but some good time
@Ttimer5
I actually felt bad for Dracula myself
@jhewitt3476 during season 2, you get to see more of Dracula anf the end fight is actually sad.
But the wizard girl is my favorite character (even though I am spacing her name) she's pretty funny.
@Ttimer5
have you watched episode 7 (season 2) ???
that's what i meant by i feel sorry for Dracula, they actually spent a great amount of time humanizing him throughout the series, especially in episode 7, it was hard for Alucard not to be the only one to cry for dad
and Sypha taking off her robes in the last episode and going all casual threw me off, like "huh ???"
I just need to know if it will pick up where the 2nd season left off or if it will jump to another part of the Castlevania timeline. I'd love to see Simon fleshed out or even take it back to where it all began with Leon. The possibilities, AND the fact that it'll be 10 episodes this time. Can't come soon enough.
Season 2 has been great, still not finished but will soon. I liked season 1 but there definitely is a difference between the 2 seasons.
I'm enjoying it so far, though I've only just started season 2. This is by far the best thing Konami has produced in a while.
Great news, loved the first two seasons!
