With a new instalment in the animated Adam Sandler series set for release this year, publisher Outright Games has revealed a video game tie to Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in will be hitting PC and consoles - and that includes Nintendo Switch, naturally - just in time for the summer.
According to the official announcement, the game will see Drac's Pack of celebrity-voiced monsters shipwrecked on a desert island, so it's up to you to rescue your friends from fearsome enemies, discover allies with special new abilities, and solve myriad puzzles as you attempt to track down your mates and find a mysterious magic compass needed to get you back to the 'safety' of Hotel Transylvania. We haven't seen any assets for it yet, so we can't go into any more detail, but yeah, yay for movie tie-ins...
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is due to hit cinemas on 13th July, so we imagine the game will drop around the same time. Here's the trailer for the film, if that's any consolation. Does a cutesy film tie-in get your blood pumping, or is this one monster worth running from? Tell us your gruesome thoughts below...

Nothing about this interests me much. Though the movies aren't entirely bad.
Saw the first two movies with the kids. There are very entertaining. Sufficed to say, more interested in the movie release than a tie-in game, but will see what Outright comes up with.
I found the first movie to be okay, but I very much disliked the second movie. I doubt that either the third movie or the game will be better.
I know I saw it, but I really don't remember much about the second movie.
The Hotel Transylvania movies are usually entertaining, aside from the second one being not as funny as the first one. Just wondering if Genndy will do something else after doing this one, hopefully
To me it's more surprising a movie tie in is actually coming to consoles, recently they all seem to be god awful (by god awful movie tie in standards) mobile games, usually freemium and probably a city builder.
I’ll keep an eye out. My kids enjoy the movie series and I’m sure would like to play the game. If it gets decent reviews I may cave and buy it for them.
I do like the movies, but the third one seems like it might not be that great. Can’t imagine a movie tie-in game being all that good either. We’ll see.
Wasn’t the 3DS Hotel done by Wayforward? If so then should be good if they’re assigned to this installment!
We love the movies in our house (more so the second one cause that's the one we saw first)
I have fond memories of the first two movies (particularly the second) and look forward to 3, especially since Tartakovsky returned to the wheel after all. A game? Time will tell. Wish it had been WayForward like with the first one, but at least the franchise is getting back into console space after HT2 didn't seem to score anything but a mobile hotelville.
Blah...
The two movies was excellent!! I have doubt about the videogame. Usually its dont end well.
Won’t be getting it personally, but I want to see it do well rather than immediately condemn it as “just another licensed game”. When something with low expectations defies the odds like Goldeneye did, it’s neat to see.
That trailer was pretty ho-hum. But I did enjoy the first movie, so who knows.
As for the game, I'm just surprised there even are any new movie tie-ins anymore. The Wii era seemed to have the last of them.
i'll pass....
I liked the first movie but the second one, while still good and high energy, had a bit more of a boring story and more obnoxious Sandler tropes. That was on top of the obligatory kids movie annoyances like ending with a dance scene that comes right the hell outta nowhere.
There have been so many bad movie cash grab games over the years that even for movies I really really like, I generally assume the worst. And this isn't even one of those.
I only saw the first hotel Transylvania. Movie tie-in’s almost never turn out well.
More fodder for the landfill.
I'm shivering with antici... pation.
